1. Ashdown Lomenzo hyperdrive is a good start, leaves the lows clean so avoids the fart. Is quite a lot like guitar distortion + blend, which gives you huge options.
2. Damn, easily worth that for the speaker, would have if local.

4. Thread necromancy, but I'm really curious as to whether this is already pictured in this thread. One of Paul's?
5.
Since it's unlabelled, how do we know it's a real Ibanez? I'm not doubting that it's a real Ibanez, just asking how you can tell.
The massive neck mudbucker. In all mytime watching this thread, only noticed them on the Ibanez ones.
6. For the price of a new combo, you could probably get second hand Ashdown separates, that have already been 'tested' for reliability issues, and give you more versatility. I found Ashdown to still provide good support for items you didn't purchase directly (in that they told me how to fix them). I've had the EB180-15 and have the EB150-12, the 12 is ported, but I preferred the 180-15, it was a later model though, significant improvements visible inside, guess the new one with compressor is better still.

8. Lots of own brand speakers are Eminence, the specs can be modded slightly at request, but BFM suggested there is only about 10% adjustment. Eminence hint at what drivers are in some things with their 'recommended replacement for...'. The Aguilar GSx12 cabs use one of the Eminence Delta 12s for example (LFA I think). Trace and early Ashdown used Celestion, as do Orange. Eminence are top dog, but probably because their range is so huge. The early Ampeg SVT cabs are considered some of the best, but the drivers they used were rubbish most ways of looking at them, so that's something to consider.
9.
I offset the speaker a bit on the baffle in case I wanted to drop a tweeter in, but haven't found it necessary so far.
If anyone asks, you offset the speaker to smooth the midrange response. It means the waves reflecting from the sides don't reach the speaker at the same time, so you even out the bumps that they cause.
10. I can here it's little pleading voice saying 'I've still got that mojo.' Not quite as awesome as the old Fender body that had been infested with termites.
11. Robbed a set of strings off another bass and strung up the jazz (was considering keeping) but the really skinny neck gives me cramp really quickly. Does all the jazz bass sounds.
12. I've seen a guy use a drill one on a vintage Gretsch in a shop and stripped the gear. Fail.
13. Probably a bit specialist, ask Ampeg. Or get a pic of the back of one.
14. If anyone wants this for offers close to £300 hit me up. It's just too in the way right now.

17. Now you can accessorise Noticed its missing a knob, I'll find a knob for it.
18. I just rocked one of these and it is great. Does all the stuff I am after (loud and bassy and horrible).
19. Edited to remove page eating and pointless jazz pics: Bought these to steal the bits off, but it turned out they were just grotty, and are fine, fully functional basses with upgrades. Cleaned them up and sorted the issues. Damage shots: The precision has been upgraded to Seymour duncan basslines active pickups and a Badass II bridge. Precision has a nice flamed neck but both are quite dinged as the photos should show. Nothing deep. If I was keeping them, I'd strip and oil the back of the neck for that silky feel (like the finish on the Wishbass). After £220 Posted
20.
Go either two 2x12 or two 3x10, in both cases with cabs that have the drivers vertically aligned. Use one at smaller gigs, two for the big gigs, and then with the two cabs vertically stacked. The result is far better than either a 4x12 or 6x10, and a much easier haul.
I don't think Matamp's speaker cabinet philosophy and your own are very comparable. Pair of upright 2x12s will be in their repertoire, 3x10 not so much. I actually asked for a similar spec to I suggested including port tunings, and they told me they couldn't help.
21. Nicotine is soluble in water, so warm water would be a good start I guess.
22.
Does Mike drive his sound then? Or did I miss something really obvious! lol
I kind of missed an 'I'. Mostly because everyone should use drive sometimes, and even when playing clean, you don't need what a tweeter does.
23. Always turn tweeters off, they don't like drive.
