1.
Quick take on the 3012HO is good. Similarly low(ish) Fs at 51.5, very good Xmax and Xlim at 6.2mm (!) and 12.5mm, and excellent sensitivity at 100.5dB (that's worth amplifier money right there!)... Haven't found a supplier in the Uk though (Boo!) I'll try it out in WinISD (got to build the model first...) Thanks Alan
Many handy models for winisd pro are here
2. Can't have them looking as good as the US ones, there wouldn't be any difference to look at.
3. 100w bass amplifier head. Effects loop, DI and Headphone out in addition to standard speaker outs (two jacks). Semi-parametric mid, treble, bass gain and volume, along with limiter, pre-shape and EQ bypass. Made in England. Really don't need it. Collection in Bristol.
4. I read this as 'Cement basses'. I am tempted to try. Seriously, Think have some of that expanded mica stuff to use to make them not super heavy about at parents. Use a standard neck, cast the body mostly around the necessary hardware.
5. Possibly facing an unemployed period so expensive toys I don't need are hitting the block. This has been looked over by a tech, but not serviced other than a switch clean etc. So its clean and working, but the valves aren't new or anything special. Marshall power valves and Fender preamp ones. No crackles or anything, seems pretty loud. Crack in the perspex front along the side. It has been cleaned up since this pic was taken and has been used as my living room practice amp. Plexi front indicates early 70s. £550, no offers cause I dunno that I really need it gone yet, and would like to keep. Collection from Bristol.
6. Bunch of this ground was covered here.
7. Want this to match my Matamp. May be jobless monday, will have a sale and see if pennies come together.
8.
Oh, early Sansui (for hifi)
I have an old Sansui stereo amp, I bought it for 20p and took it apart for a pot clean. Really quite something inside, big and full of point to point stuff.
9.
I very much doubt anyone can tell any difference between ptp and pcb.
Fairly easy to tell when you want to fix it. Valve amps need maintenance.
10. I thought new Oranges were put in boxes in the UK but the internals were made in China, except for the initial run.
11. If it splits, I want the bridge for my one. Or will trade my original bridge and money for it.
12.
I don't think they do a finance deal otherwise I would (Don't mean to sound cheap)
Think they are cheaper than the Orange.
13. If you want lighter gauge, but still have enough tension to make a sound, order some high tension strings from Newtone, they can do stuff with the core.

Listing says Tokai, bass doesn't.
Their retail website lists them as Tokai also, maybe you could pester them for some sort of reference.
15. What are the jacks on it? After one with 3 mono jacks. Might just make one.
16. Ken Smith and Thomastic have purple.
17.
Does this mean the cab is tuned to 23 Htz ?
No, but some panels have a resonant frequency of 23hz. The cab tuning is to do with the length and area of the ports, its gives a bump in the response at that frequency, you aim to have that bump where there is already a drop off in the natural response of the cab.

20.
It's so it pops up if someone searches for "alembic bass". Clever sales technique!
Cause often, when you are out to buy an Alembic, you settle for a Westone Thunder instead.
21. Don't be associating speaker size and sound. It's not looked upon kindly. The midrange probably doesn't go high enough to make distressing sound with fuzz/distortion so its probably safe if you have some EQ available.
22. Find a black piano key and use stick pads to stick it you your bass in the appropriate neckwards postion.
