2. Another pedal I thought was funny to have, but have no actual use for: £75 posted, its boxed with papers, does a sort of tremelo thing amongst the funk.
3.
I've got a similar problem. I play in a thrash band with two VERY LOUD guitarists tuned to C#. I'm still thinking of adding a 15er to my 2x12 just so the rumble cuts through a bit more.
Don't mention you are thinking of mixing cabs in threads like this. Get another amp to go with it, and then another 2x12. Will be awesome.
4. I have an Epi SG guitar with set neck, and its better made than the Gibson one I had, but the hardware totally sucked, now it has Klusons and EMG's and it rules. Would figure the bass will be similar, Dimarzio Model 1 it up real good.
5. Taper wound and a guage heavier than is usually supplied with a set. Also, lots of cabs and lots of headroom on your amp. Bit I just made up to fit in with past eperience and provoke response from knowledgeable sorts: Combos and little cabs will be bottoming out before the 1st overtone (or harmonic, the one thats 1 octave higher and comprises most of the bit you proper hear of the really low notes) so the note will sound lame.
6. Id this instead of the BTA400? Here? Did they remember we have valves in our amps in this country?
7. Might have a spare set of my newtone .145 to.70 you can have for a tenner, cleaned in meths, made for that tuning. Let me know what tuner layout you have.
8.
Prince would be proud of us! Feel the funk y'all... Alex
9. I'd message newtone strings with a bunch of info like scale length of your bass and what sort of guage and material (nickel or steel) you like in standard, and they can figure you a set with same sort of tension. And get them taper woud cause its awesome.

11.
i can help you out but i'll be busy until friday with my dissertation, if you've not got it sorted by then let me know
That would be cool, cheers.
12.
I'd be interested to hear from anyone who is absolutely blown away with the £100 bargain they picked up on eBay.
This was £125, but it was a bit more to got and get and needed work:
13. Still going. You have a choice of Ruby, Sovtek or Groove tubes valve in this along with the EHX.
14. Ha, I totally bid on those tuners on the offchange they'd be useful trade bait.
15. The one with the EQ, comes with a choice of valves, inc. EHX as original. Lots of switches.
16.
don't know, never seen one before, but they look f**king nice! Grog from Die So Fluid plays though a H&K, and her bass tone is one of the best i've ever heard -- so they can't be that bad ^_^ always good to be a bit different
Also needed to be said: Mmmm, Grog from Die so Fluid.
17. Right now the volume pots don't work like they should. Thinking I need to start again, from scratch, what I want is a volume and tone on each pickup, and a switch to either send both outputs to tip as per normal or send one pickup to the ring of a stereo jack, it works fine on my other bass, but that has no tones, and P + j pickups. Does having tones make a difference? Its in bits again no, gotta put it back together and try and describe better how all the knowbs currently work. Edit: How would I wire the switch in the Jazz style scenario? Edit 2 it works fine in stereo mode, but in mono either volume takes all the sound if you turn down, suspect its the ring contact to the shaft causing it but having trouble picturing it now its all back together. Maplins for a double pole switch so I can isolate it next rebuild.
18. I used 2 8x10s one either side of the drummer ruinnging off the same amp. It made crazy null places, it was cool cause I could get note decayin one spot and hold my bass out for awesome feedback.
19. Does this have the paralell out like the BDDI? I just traded up and am waiting on delivery and if it doesn't, I'm going to be annoyed.
20. What is the significance of the silver screw? I've got a silver screw Jap chorus and neverreally figured why that apparenly made it more desireable.
21. Depends what you mean by 'suitable', its isn't polyphonic, which makes it not great for guitar, plenty of people use them for bass, it doesn't specify. If you are expecting it to track down to your bottom E glitch free then it is 'not suitable'. Most EHX stuff is happy either way, but I've never believed in some pedals being for bass and some for guitar anyway.
22. I really like this bass, shame about the extra skinny string there.
23. New one with the modern power socket, not the jack plug type one, in box with papers, £40 posted.
24. Get a Sansamp and a monitor wedge. (That totally isn't what I do, I have not very many watts per amp, but lots of amps.)
