1. Everyone bought a crappy 5 string to see if they could do it, then threw it in the corner when they realised 4 is easier, and it was never worth selling, and they'll pick it up again one day. Then they bought nicer 4 strings since they used them much more. Hence 4 strings sound better than 5 strings.
2. I found out my nextdoor neighbour also has a Wishbass. Considering there are a thousand worldwide, and mostly in America, what are the chances.
3. As longs as the nut is cut, and the setup is done, no probs at all. I play 4 strings tuned ADGC with strings from .145 to .070, not sure of the inbetween 2,might be good to keep the old nut as is, and get a new one to make big slots in. I think the Dark Lord strings are taped, so saddle raising might be needed, no biggie.
4. This was an extra on a bunch of pedals I bought to get the ones I was after. Small bit of research later I realise its a bit desirable. Thought I'd put it to Basschatter first before I call on the people in the know or Ebay it. Its a Japanese black label 'silver screw' model, pretty much exactly like this one. 'Exactly' like in that the battery snap is bust and its beat up. I can fix it a bit neater than electrical tape if you want. It also has the ink stamp inside. £60
5. Even though I ticked the don't send me a newsletter box, I got email from them anyway.
6. Think someone has already helped some buy buying the Jazz. Its really nice.
7.
I just wish it looked nicer! Ha!
When you say 'nicer' I'm thinking you might mean a different thing to what most people have in mind when they say 'nicer'.
8. A correct guess doesn't seem to be required. So I submitted 'All marketing and no substance'.

Got it, totally doesn't track bottom 2 strings, starts coping around the 3rd, which on normal tuned basses is a G on the bottom E. Glitches in a cool tremelo sort of way, seems to track better with tone turned down.
10. What layout is it? Think there are variations. My Mockingbird has half a dozen switches and 3 knobs, with two P pups, its active. If yours is like that I can photo the gubbins. Or PM Lorne if he hasn't already replied, he is font of all BC Rich knowledge.
11. Nngg. How much of the neck pocket on the double cut would be left if its was tidied up? Could it be made into a bass? I've got all the parts laying about to make either of these into a (likely crude and bodgy) instrument, and the inclination to do so. Whats postage gonna be? Here's the reult of last time I took something like this on, sacrificed my first electric to the gods of ugly:
12.
I tried a Guv'nor, hated it. It sounded harsh and squawky. Colorsound Bass Fuzzes are... I'd say "enticing" but too expensive for me
Was that the new silver Guvnor? The old black ones are beasts, can mod for more bass and still have the awesome drive too.
13. Prosebass uses them I think, and will be along shortly I'd guess.
14. If you put your head by the side of them, does one sound louder? They probably have different sound dispersal, or the 15 is more sensitive, so makes more sound at the same power. Thats one of the things about mixing cabs, that and it causes the whole world to implode.
15. When I was home for Xmas I went to my dads work, and next door to him is this audiophile speaker manufacturer, they spoke very highly of Volt speakers, and especially their 18" sub driver that has a weird chassis in front of the cone that apparently helps dissipate heat from the coil better (although we all know thermal power handling is no measure of a speaker). There are two chaps there, one is the speaker design nerding guy who was very informative about toroidal transformers and such, and the other is responsible for statements like 'loudspeakers all sound the same but get better as you spend more money'.
16. For all you total low end madness needs. Cheap entry too.
17. Am I right in thinking 'The Vintage' will be ideal for my horible downtuning into old valve heads, as the heads aren't particularly high output (100 and 130w), and aiming to produce sort of volume that vibrates your eyes in your head and makes your vision wibbly? Whilst also looking vintage and 'Doom'. Basically aiming to be a budget, transportable version of:
18. Eelctrical tape over the poles is a minor mod I've seen fairly often.
19.
I've never understood why basses need to be so heavy. To someone of my statue its never been a problem but it would be easy for manufacturers to offer a "lightweight" range. I recently built this bass and it was on basschat for weeks with no takers before going to ebay and was sold for £140.00 just to recoup my outlay. It was a through neck , mahogany bodied, twin pup passive bass that weighed in at just over 7lbs so it can be done.
There was the Fender 'Lyte' versions, dunno how popular they were. Plenty of people are of the opinion heavy basses sound better, Tim Commerford for one, plenty of people worship his tone. Personally I think some weight in the neck and headstock is helpful (Fat Finger), and the body being correspondingly heavier to balance it.
20. Only thing that could be a concern, if you are wicked fussy, is break angle of strings over saddles, probably plenty as it is, but when its nearly none at all, can be a pain. Sure some people have a particular angle that must be achieved in mind.

Inpulse Christmas money Ebay score. So I now have one on the way. What can I expect? Thicker sound or total failure to track my already disgustingly detuned bass. Search tells me nothing, the only mention of them is someone else asking for opinions? Has no-one really tried them? Will I soon be the authority?
22.
there is no market for aluminium strings.
Thats probably a softness issue, and they would coat your fingers in nasty also.
23. The pots are the inside trickery of the knobs. If sound comes out when they are turned all the way down, its because they aren't perfect pots. Is it enough sound to be a problem? New pots is the answer then, pretty simple job generally.
24. I don't think I've had any instruments that haven't needed this doing. Never been convinced the little srews generally used are adequate for the job, bit bigger screw shouldn't work loose and start reaming a big hole in the first place.
