1.
nothing beats what Jim Marshall's large power transformers can do for guitar for the output stage of his amplifiers!
Wha? Marshall tone is all about the underrated transformers.
 2. How much power does it draw? Should give a clue if it is analogue or digital, which is the difference between the OC2 and OC3.
 3. Aguilar should sound good, Orange can't tell how it will sound because they are a mess in the mids anyway, and you are mixing different cabs. The Aguilar will be louder though since you aren't feeding half your speakers power to perform the function of the back of the speaker in the Aguilars.
 4. Bit more specifics on the amps would be good, most generic things ever as described.
 5. There is no problem with using cabs within their limits. Cheap amps are much more transparent than cheap cabs.
 6. Forget the 4ohm part. No point, no cheap cab is gonna handle the extra watts.
 7.
Well noone in their right mind is going to open with their "best" offer are they ?, thats just not how any sort of trade negotiations work.
Yes, there are a lot of dishonest people about. I have no wish to deal with them.
 8.
Maybe I see if differently, but isn't asking for a best offer (that might be lower than your asking price, but still acceptable) by its very nature, negotiating? Everyone's welcome to trade how they want aren't they, it's just nice if nobody takes offence
On my part, to an extent. On the part of the person ignoring what I've said, it isn't negotiating, it is spam or lies, depending on if they didn't read it, or read it and ignored it. Either way, no point in going further.
 9.
I think that's cos people look to negotiate rather than just outright pay their top price, I mean if someone's offer was low but not far off the mark, tell them what you want, as they might want the item and rather not lose it for just and extra £x amount. Being asked 'what's your best offer' puts me off to be honest, as I wouldn't really ask them 'what's the cheapest you will sell'. If I want to offer on something, even if its a low offer, I tend to offer based on what I can afford, rather than tell someone their item is only worth £x. I guess this is where everyone differs, and at the end of it all, nobody is forced to buy or sell, so hold out for someone your happy to do a deal with
I'm not one of those people though. Hence saying 'give me your best offer'. If I wanted to negotiate, I'd start by stating my negotiating position (which is my advert), which would be rendered pointless by someone who didn't bother reading it, similar to not reading the words 'best offer'. If they want the sport of negotiating, they'll have to start by making their best offer for that use of my time.
 10. The insulting bit isn't so much insulting as disappointment that makes it really annoying. You get excited at the prospect of a sale seeing the new message and it turns out to be some total chancer with no posts hoping you have no idea what you are selling.
 11. Lacquering speakers changes the tone a fair bit too.
 12. I hate when you say to people 'make your best offer', they go for a lowball, and when you decline, they go to haggling. 'Best offer', so you weren't being honest with me first time, why would I continue to deal with you? Time better spent finding someone who can shoot straight.
 13. I figured where he found his business plan, in the fifth Hitcherhiker's Guide book:
The main trade that was carried out was in the skins of the NowWhattian boghog but it wasn't a very successful one because no one in their right minds would want to buy a NowWhattian boghog skin. The trade only hung on by its fingernails because there was always a significant number of people in the Galaxy who were not in their right minds.
14. The added cost. Some companies do do that though: http://www.avatarspeakers.com/hellatone.htm
 15. Dunno why people say they aren't serviceable from that. All proper components, much more accessible than the inside of an Ampeg or Mesa.
 16. I'd be tempted to velcro tiny head to the side of a big cab.
 17. You never heard a worn in speaker sounding worse, because when it sounds worse from being worn, its worn out.
 18. I like
in its Kay form it had the truss rod in the heel and now in the more common Fender head position.
Yep, those Fenders with there not at the heel truss rod adjustment. Edit: Just spotted the thumbrest, above the thumbrest holes, genius.
 19.
Any hot tips on smaller cabs that will get me close to that sound.
GS2x12. Apparently the Deltalite II (might wanna check that, might be the one, or another deltalite) sits happy in those cabs, but has a bit more high from the speakers (GS cabs are pretty dark) so a lighter cab tuned the same could be made, but will be a bit brighter.
 20.
According to the front page of their website, the modern ones at least are: http://www.hiwatt.co.uk/ I always thought point to point meant turret board, tag strip or similiar - is this wrong?
Might say it, tell you more about Music Ground than how they are made. Turret is turret construction, instead of going from point to point, it goes from turret to turret, or turret to point. Odd things will be point to point, like the resistors on a valve base where they go between the connectors directly, but the main part of the circuit in Hiwatts is either on turret boards, or on a PCB. Either of which are superior construction methods than being point to point. http://mhuss.com/AmpInfo/ Edit: Also Military style = PCB, since military stuff is on PCB.
 21.
I've read that cabs can be pretty much anywhere in the room ( for smallish rooms anyway) as the waves Aren't particularly directional? Or is that more Internet nonsense?!!
For purposes of low end, together is better, not because they are directional, but apart you end up with a mess of cancellations. Far enough apart it OK, but stacked can't go wrong. For the mids and higher, does mean they are all coming from one place stacked, so splitting gives coverage, but in a small pub, all in one place, ideally backed into a corner is best.
 22. How wide is the stage, which bit of the audience?
 23.
point to point wired Hiwatt
Hiwatt were never point to point.
 24.
Is foam better than springs? I suppose it would be as once you set the height you don't really need to move them again. I need to replace the mounting screws on one of my Basses, as they're too long, and I was going to mount them with springs. Can't find anywhere that sells the screws I need at the length I need, though. They're either too long or too short, bloomin' typical.
If its pickup ring or scratchplate mounted, you need springs or rubber tube. silicon fuel hose from model shop works, and loads less fiddly than springs.
 25.
That's a bit of an over-simplification? I have an amp that i like, i just wanted to know more about the internals and how they operate.
Massively. But need to get specific with the amp to figure how it works, because its individual to models, can run them in different ways even if valve.
