Can't remember what but I think it was filing in grooves so it wouldn't lock any more, and then declaring no other tech would put the time in to do such a thing.

Had the issue with Shockwave's Jazz, turns out the earth and live were swapped, they'd changed the way it was made at one point and there was an addendum sheet I hadn't seen.

Servisol is the spray for pots, cotton bud and some methylated spirits for the jack, full on cracking can be bad connection or shorting against something, which is more of a soldering job.

When you say 'looks straight', have you put a straight edge against it, or held the string down at both ends to actually compare it to straight, there should be a barely perceptible gap in the middle.

I use solid copper wire from mains cable offcuts I scavenge for the earth between pots in guitars, solid wire means if the pot comes loose it can't rotate. Screened wire from Maplins for the signal path, massive pile of scavenged wire, bundles from washing machines being scrapped for spares, that stuff is good because its silicone sleeved for head resistance in some places, which means no burnt ends.

Kinda both, ended up making one good one out of the two, other one is pending a refret and new bridge.

If it turns out to be a scam, give them the run around as much as you can, if everyone does that, it will become not worth the time for them.

The guitars changed scale apparently, so maybe the bass did too.

Lots more power needed to make lows is basically it. The bulk of the wave is the bass, the mid and treble are just along for the ride and put kinks in it.

Ha, pretty much ever finished it, put a non smashed scratchplate on, and it sat around strung with old strings because didn't much like the shape. Given it to another bcer who wanted a go, in exchange for him finishing filing the nut.

But if you've offered a refund if returned, in ebay message record, and he goes and has it fiddled with, then he loses, just need to be clear and polite in the comms, and highlight and submit them in a case if one gets opened.
