Surprised the Rickenwaffe haven't spotted these however very wisely no reference to the name or headstock pics. http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1423.l2649 http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1423.l2649
I just scored these, they are both having bridge troubles, luckily, I have those repro bridges. I'm probably not keeping them both.
I've done the same re: Blocking buyers and have a list of over thirty blocked bidders who were either non-payers or very late payers etc.
Share them. PM if funny about it. All about stopping them before having to deal with them.

You have the option of blocking people with x number of unpaid item cases against the too. Mine is set: Block buyers who:

Have received 2 unpaid item(s) recorded on their account within 1 month(s)

the fretline markers are a different radius to the fingerboard
That makes no sense at all. That would make them sticking out of the board or sunk into it at the ends or the middle. But if you've offered a refund if returned, in ebay message record, and he goes and has it fiddled with, then he loses, just need to be clear and polite in the comms, and highlight and submit them in a case if one gets opened.

With Ebay's brutal oppression of sellers, its bidders that are the potential problem causers now, that thread is here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/181272-blocking-problem-ebayers/page__p__1734439__hl__blocking%20problem__fromsearch__1#entry1734439

I've seen a build diary from a luthier who checks wood with tuning forks, to find a good spot for the bridge.

Barefaced Super 15 vs. Vintage, how much loud do you need for Doom?
Mr. Foxen replied to Mr. Foxen's topic in Amps and Cabs
Reckon comparing them in the evening, between houses with kids, would be really unpopular. The ports are plugged because Vintage comes with a pair of those plugs, so hey are both fitted for delivery. It drops the tuning to be more akin to a sealed cab in the lows. Plan is kind of that the Vintage covers the guitary side, so that roll off is beneficial, means no more brutally heavy 4x12 for my mids and up, see how it works out. They are plugged in for a go tomorrow. -
Mesa 400+ tone in a lightweight package?
Mr. Foxen replied to onehappybunny's topic in Amps and Cabs
Or just check if its a thread about the 400+. -
Main con is people keep running them with a single 9v battery so they sound rubbish because they are supposed to run on a higher voltage, a pair for 18v is a good start, but I heard they are designed for 27v. Too many guitarists like the tone from underpowering, compression rendering it completely independent of how you play, because it saves having to learn how to play, and now they are associated with that. I have my guitar ones on 18, really transparent, and had a P set at 18 which was also nice, but it was in a pointy Warlock and the bass itself didn't work out great for me.

Mesa 400+ tone in a lightweight package?
Mr. Foxen replied to onehappybunny's topic in Amps and Cabs
im on the side of the fence that if you want the tone of a 400 watt all valve amp, you gotta have a 400 watt all valve amp. i have tried many an amp and to me, nothing sounds like it. that weight you talk of can only be made by lots of tubes and lots of big heavy output transformers. anything else you will be compromising on something. I used to have the Marshall VBA400 and i had to compromise as i couldnt afford to re valve the bugger more than once so i went for a 200 watt all valve. (slightly less beef but half the re valving cost) A sound that good is worth carrying! in my experience, NOTHING can replicate the valve weight sound without some compromise. Its just a matter of if you want to.
Ha, if you want the sound of a 400w valve amp, the 400+ isn't the way, since it isn't 400w. -
I've been hoping my missing one will turn up for 8 months. This will be a cheap way to guarantee it does in the next few days.

Looks a lot like his hours easing frets was actually grinding them all flat.
The fiesta red was my main gigger for the best part of 20 years. In that time I was fit enough to carry around two 200 watt valve stacks with the Fender circuit plugged in one and the Gibson circuit into the other. If you can imagine dialling up the Fender jazz circuit flat out in treble mode then dialling in the 'felt rather than heard' EBO circuit/stack it was a hellava wall of sound to be standing in front of.
Ha, that's pretty close to what I do now.

Little Bastard vs. Terror Bass as to sound quality
Mr. Foxen replied to BassTractor's topic in Amps and Cabs
Not used a LB, but cheerfully jammed with drums with a 4xEL84 amp. -
Big muffs inherent mid scoop makes it bad for guitaryness, because guitar is importantly midrange, where the mid is made prominent by the speakers even if cut elsewhere. Probably better with a Fuzzface clone, see the Mooen thread lots of options cheaply there. I like the Marshall Guvnor, which am fairly sure the rage pedal by Mooen, black with red writing is supposed to be. Sansamp GT2 is the really good one though.

Little Bastard vs. Terror Bass as to sound quality
Mr. Foxen replied to BassTractor's topic in Amps and Cabs
I'd guess the Little Bastard is tons more fixable than the bass Terror, Bass terror has had some exploding cap issues, but there is a lot omore of them about than LBs, the issue does look like a manufacture/component spec one though. Bear in mind there are UK and PRC made LBs. -
http://www.ebay.co.u...=item337d479aaf Pretty sure that will be a 2x15. And no idea what the SWR link is, but acoustic 220 and cab is nice for that price. Edit: managing to misspell the name of your own town is bonus points.

http://www.jimloy.com/physics/bee.htm http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/1076/is-it-aerodynamically-impossible-for-bumblebees-to-fly The interaction between the sets of wings was an efficiency thing, they second set is timed in such a way to benefit from the effect of the first.
Maybe it uses the same laws of physics that allow bumblebees to fly?
Flapping. The famous calculation was done on fixed wing bees.

Drum kit for 17yr starter - Xmas present type thing.
Mr. Foxen replied to KiOgon's topic in Other Instruments
I bought one of those Stagg kits as a lender for a gig I was putting on, and my hosuemate played it a bit, sold it on bit later, not thinking much of it, got another cheap kit for housemate, then appreciated how good the Stagg kit was, the hardware was bit meh, but it sounded proper. -
Steve Wishnevsky of Wishbass has already got a CNC router and is applying for a grant for a 3D printer.

So a Rockinbetter isn't a Rickenbacker & a Rockinbetter isn't a Tokai?
Mr. Foxen replied to iconic's topic in Bass Guitars
I've asked bunches of people selling 'Tokai' Rockinbetters, they've all insisted they got something to show its so, and never managed to produce it. -
Vintage MIJ (formerly J@pCr@p) Spotting
Mr. Foxen replied to Bassassin's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Distrust anyone who crams 'Ibanez' into a not Ibanez bass listing, but at least Cimar have a known relation. the body won't be Elder either, that would be terrible wood and probably bad luck is superstitious (think is a bit poisonous with cyanide type stuff, probably only when green). OK at current price, not for much more though.
