1. Cheers fella, might Maplins be worth a shout?
2. So I bought a SoundLab power supply that can run 6 pedals. Works fine with my Boss units but my US Bass Balls has a much smaller power input socket. I'm told there is an adapter (male/female) that fits the end of the soundlab power lead and has the correct smaller pin on the other. Any one solved this one before? Cheers, LC
3. The Reserves are Gary, Paul and Gareth, guitar bass and drums and we're all in our 40's. We have a gig ready set including: Black Crowes, Jet, REM, Kinks, Cream, Free, CCR, Steppenwolf, Sabbath, Purple, Oasis, Stereo's and much more. Unfortunately our singer has just dropped out due to personal reasons so were looking for someone new to come and join us. We're a relaxed bunch and it's all about the music for us, not personalities. Give Gary (Bass) a bell on 07854 792843 if interested.
4. I've got a Vintage 430. Cost about £190 new and it's great for home noodling, good neck, not that loud un-plugged and I fitted a front strap button coz it doesn't come with one. Good VFM. LC
5.
When they were announced there was a maple fret boarded version of this: And It was gorgeous! EDIT: But for that much money I'd rather buy a Wal.
Bass direct has a lovely MK2 in!
6. Looks like a brilliant space Dave. Just thinking about some tosser breaking in and making off with all your gear!
7. I almost bought the fretless version a little while ago. Love the wooden pick guard and yes, they are quality!
8.
I had a pretty poor experience in Music Room in Lincoln last week. First bass I played was a MIM Precision with a visibly high action, but I kinda had to play it just to verify if it was as unplayable as it looked. I expressed my concerns to the assistant, who tried to upsell me by using the old "you can't get a low action with those, try this MIA over here" trick. Second bass I tried was a Vigier Excess which didn't really do the price tag justice, IMO. The thing is, I'd already expressed an interest in the Vigier before I picked up the Precision, so I think that the salesman was trying to steer me away from the £425 Fender and towards the £1400 Vigier, to make sure that I didn't walk out of the shop with the cheaper item. Well, he certainly ensured that. S.P.
£1400 for the Vigier is cheap! I have a custom Excess and I love it
9. Big thanks to the 'two Debs' for coming to our first gig! It's great that fellow BC'ers come out and support each other like this! We had a great time on Sat night airing our set for the first time. I even sold my fretless to SpaceChick during the interval - I wonder if that is a first too? Our drummer (Paul) had the heebeegeebees for two days prior, but 'manned up' in style and really enjoyed himself! He hasn't stopped talking about it since! BTW, we hired the Green Rooms for the night (link above in this thread) for £75 and invited all our friends and family. The £75 includes bar staff, sound engineer - full sound check and lighting rig!. They couldn't do enough for us to make it a successful night - thanks Owen and Vicky! Onwards and upwards! LC
10. Congratulations! It's great fun and you'll love it, especially if you click as friends as well as band members and all support each other which I'm sure you will. Onwards and upwards... LC
11.
Gutted It's my friends birthday meal this weekend. I'd have loved to have come to this.... Particularly if your steppenwolf track is "Born to be Wild" *Debs tantrums that she can't come*
....and it is! Never mind, you should catch us on the circuit over the coming months! Great bass line in Born to be Wild! LC
12. By the way...we have our first gig this coming Saturday 7 July at the Green Rooms in Treforest. We'll be on at about 8.30 ish I expect and you'd be more than welcome. Our set includes: Nirvana, Cream, REM, JET, Oasis, Stereophonics, Black Crowes, Black Sabbath, Free, Kings of Leon, Blur, Rolling Stones, CCR, undertones, Steppenwolf, RHCP and the Kinks. LC (Gary)

15. The Gower pub in Roath has open Mic Blues night either first or last Thursday in the month - can't quite remember? Google Blues Dragon and it will tell you what you need to know. I've played there a couple of times, everyone is really friendly and you don't even need to bring your guitar, Colin (organiser) sets the stage up with PA guitar, bass and drums! LC
16. Will undoubtedly be better than last nights TOTP 1977! No wonder the punk thing happened with the dross that was featured!
