1. Join my band.com has worked for me. You do have to trawl through the 17 year olds (and younger) who play thrash metal tho!
 2.
I loved that natural p they had in there, kept looking at it every week, think someone on here brought it then sold it again, so maybe one day eh
That was me. Ghost rider has it now. Amazing condition, loved everything about it apart from the fat C shaped neck. It's now paired with a '79 Fender Bassman head and cab.
 3.
Shure SM57 all the way. Great for everything you've just mentioned! It's almost identical to the Shure SM58 which is the industry standard live vocal mic, however it doesn't have the protective casing, meaning you can get closer to the diaphragm. It's still commonly used live still, even without the protection. Normally around £90 but you can pick them up cheaper. I got mine form the Amazon marketplace for £50 I think. No recording artist should be without a SM57! http://www.shure.com...ment-microphone
+1 good kit
 4. Blimey, a Rickenfrankenfendermanjazz thing!
 5. I don't think it matters how long you've spent in music, I believe that some people suffer more than others. I've known professional musicians who have been in music all their lives who suffer with debilitating stage fright. I would have thought it's treatable - hypnotherapy already mentioned, it's a mind thing after all.
 6.
Threatening places you still want to use isn't the way.
Just for clarity, I haven't threatened anyone/any place. We've decided to go back collectively as we like the place. I'm sure the guy in question will do the honorable thing and apologise face to face and well all get back to making music!
 7.
Yes, name please.
Pm'd
 8.
+1 to a free practice. Which rehearsal rooms is it?
Pm'd
 9.
i've got a spare boss tuner (tu2). would you take that and 50 quid on top?
Hiya mate, Not quite enough. Tuner new £69 and they seem to go on here for about £40 £45. I'll take the tuner + £70 if its in good nick and complete. Cheers, LC
 10.
what kind of effects are you looking for?
Hiya, Distortion/Overdrive/Chorus/pedal tuner
 11. I'll put it in a nice new gigbag.
 12.
You'll start with an overdrive and/or distortion (I like the Pigtronix Polysaturator and the Emma Electronic ReezaFRATzitz),and before you know it you'll be looking at Envelope Filters,Octavers,Chorus,Delay, Flanger, etc
Thanks Doddy, I just love the names of these things!
 13.
Sounds like you want a bit of growl to your sound. I'd recommend the SFX Red Dragon or the DHA VT1, both very nice sounding low gain overdrives.
Cheers Gareth, I'll check them out.
 14. Right, now that I'm playing through a 'clean' Amp rather than my Yamaha which had many presets I'm thinking of adding something extra to my sound. Problem is, I have no idea where to start, Big Muff, Cheese Grater Distortion. Diddly Squiddly Overdrive????? The sort of stuff we do is Black Crows, Strokes, Cream, Free, Deep Purple, Sabbath, Oasis, Undertones, The Who, Stereos, REM, Jet, Chillies etc. Any advice, opinions would be gratefully received! LC
 15. From my classical music days I knew a Glasgow GP who happened to also be a very good pianist. He used to prescribe himself Beta Blockers. A vice principal Violinist who had to have at least 5 large Vodkas before going on. You are not alone, there are many 'names' who suffer terribly with the heebeegeebee's. Many of these have developed interesting 'coping mechanisms' over the years. One famous soprano used to go on stage wanting a wee, which gave her something else to think about! Familiarity with the dots, the venue, your band mates all help. Our drummer is cacking himself about our first gig. We go out of our way to support him, big up his drumming (which is actually very good), go over stuff he is concerned about etc. I've heard that hypnotism helps? LC
 16. I've just spoken to the rest of the band and we've decided that we will go back. Hopefully the guy will apologise mano a mano and we can all move on. He's young which is probably why he handled it in the wrong way. We're gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and see how it goes. You live and learn.
 17. This a lot of quality gear for the money chaps type BUMP
 18. Selling my franken fender fretless. This has been professionally de-fretted by Simon at Cardiff Guitars. Neither he nor I are aware of the make? Some of you might know based on the shape of the head stock? Anyway, it's light, in top condition, plays very well wearing flats and got me playing fretless to a very basic standard. Strangely for an inexpensive instrument, it seems to have very powerful pup's? I haven't had the scratch plate off to have a look. If you are looking for a cheap fret less to get you started, you could do a lot worse than this. Looking for [s]£125[/s] £100 posted please. Thanks for looking, LC
 19.
Got anywhere else to go?
Yeah, plenty of options. We'd already decided to go back had the Microphone not turned so he could see the whites of our eyes. Now that it has, not so sure.
 20. Strumming a 6 string no problem, pick up a bass - different story!
