2.
Another (sorry) serious one... photograph all your gear, write down the descriptions and all the serial numbers and put it all somewhere safe (www.dropbox.com or a fridge - next best thing to a firesafe). You never know!
Funny, I've just spent the last hour and a half doing just that!

7. Here we have a mint PRS CE 22 in cherry burst. This has not been played much at all since it was built. Handbuilt in the US, the CE 22's are not common these days. The only other one I can find for sale is on E bay (and has been for a while) at over £1100 in a hideous light blue colour. Mine has the original unmarked PRS hard case and all the case candy (including the all important build tag). Rosewood fingerboard with moons, dragon II pup's, trem, 5 way pup selector. Wide variety of sounds from classic strat to Gibbo LP. For sale at [s]£925[/s] or near offers please or trade for a 4 or 5 string bass. [s]£850[/s] Now only[s]£795[/s] GRAB A BARGAIN FOLKS! Now only[s] £749[/s] One week only £675 **FINAL PRICE DROP** Thanks for looking, LC
8. I learned on one of these and yours looks like a lovely example! I always found the stock pups to be a little 'polite' so the Wizards should have improved things no end. Good luck with the sale and all good wished to your daughter. LC
9. there are two types of player I think. You can learn songs 'parrot fashion' from TAB or score if you can read, and you'll get quite proficient at that especially in a band situation. There is nothing wrong with that approach. On the other hand, if you really want to get to know your Bass and be able to 'improvise' your own bass lines or turn up for a session to do your own material then doing the theory will really help. In order to do that, first learn the fingerboard, where all the G's etc etc. Modes will really help you learn hand shapes in order for you to get around the fingerboard with ease. Either approach is fine, just depends on what sort of player you want to be. Welcome and good luck! LC
10. Not common these, like Alto flutes! Although having said that one of Peter Gabriel's orchestra members was playing an alto flute on Jools the other night. Good luck with your search. LC
11.
what in gods name where they thinking..
That sure is a 'm*nger'!
12. That's bloody beautiful, absolutely stunning. Can you take some pics of my '78 precision please? (It's a good job I don't get on with Jazzes!) LC
13. "Something with at least one humbucker"....I know....A Gibson Victory Standard...
14. BARGAIN ALERT!! Good luck, this shouldn't be here long at that price. LC
15. The Stage Clix doesn't require the 9v battery as it has rechargables which should last 5 years at which time you return the transmitter to the manufacturer and they replace them at a small charge and dispose of the old ones. Also, the Stage Clix includes Diversity 3 which means it will switch automatically and seamlessly between 3 channels depending on where the strongest signal is. No need to manually select the best one.
16. Sorry your return to bass playing hasn't worked out matey. Good luck with the sale tho LC
17. Ok, Ok here's the factual comparison, taken from Fly Guitars (somewhat of an authority on Gibson's)........and I quote: "The series was moderately sucessful, with high profile players such as Dave Kiswiney and Ralphe Armstrong endorsing the Victory Artist. As usual with Gibson basses, it didn't outsell the Fender Precision, and so fell by the wayside after five years". ...So you will let it slide now then?
18. I seriously suggest that everyone grows up. I made a comment that (in my opinion) the bass in question was "fairly bog standard" and look whats happened. I am entitled to my opinion. For heaven's sake, this sort of schoolboy "Sir, he's called my bass a nasty name Sir" is ridiculous! Get a life...... bored of this
19. I appear to have rung your Gibson bell don't I? Facts of the matter are that Fender have produced several hundred thousand P basses and Gibson only made three Victory Standards. Andy Baxter has one, there's the one on E bay and the bloke from the Wurzels has the other one. I rest my case. You seem overly sensitive about my 'bog standard' comment? In case you hadn't noticed the word 'standard' appears in the name of that particular model doesn't it, so I guess we are only at odds over the word 'bog'? I think I've got better things to do quite honestly.
20. Hi Anthony and welcome. This is a great forum and everyone will be more than willing to give help and advice. Just ask. Cheers, LC
21. I've just bought the Stage Clix 'pack', which is for active basses. The 'jack' is not good for actives as it's too near the EQ when plugged into the jack socket and you get interference. As the OP states, you just use the short cable supplied from the input socket of your bass to the transmitter,( in your back pocket, or on the strap). I rehearsed yesterday with this for the first time and have to say it's brilliant. Not cheap, but solidly made, works extremely well, and I'm no longer tripping over my own lead. Can highly recommend. LC
