1. Here's my little lot, from left to right: Hudson Electro Acoustic, Squier 50th Anniversary P bought on here from CD_David - a set of Ernie Ball Hybrid's and a new switchcraft jack socket has made this one a 'keeper'. Fender Roger Waters Artist - very pleased with this, it has a big chunky neck and Seymour Duncans as standard. Also, note the brass nut, not common these days but gives it 'zing' on open strings. Last but not least, my mid-seventies Columbus Les Paul copy - a fine example of jap crap with issues: it's actually semi-hollow not solid and those are NOT humbuckers but single coils. Never the less I like it a lot (for a non-bass that is)!!!! Just noticed that all my guitars are 'black'??? Should have polished them before I took the Pic! LC
2. Thanks for the bump. I think these were quite popular back in the day, although you don't have to kick mine to get it going. It's plenty loud enough on its own, but I'm told is quite a monster with the extension cab. Seen a few of those going on here fairly recently. Cheers LC
3. Early 80's Peavey 300 Bass Combo. USA built and in lovely condition, everything works and nothing missing or broken. This beasty puts out 210 watts stand-alone or the full 300 watts with an extension cab. I even have the owners manual! I bought this on here a few months ago from Chest Rockwell as a stop gap and have only used it for rehearsing. I bought nice Yamaha rig this Saturday and now the Peavey is surplus to requirements. It also has castors for ease of transporting. Would make a great first gigging amp or a back up. £100 ono and pick up only from Cardiff weekends or Peterborough during the week Please. I'll post some pics later today. That's just 50p per Watt!!! Thanks, LC
4. Any kind souls got Money - Pink Floyd and You Shook Me all Night Long - AC/DC? Cheers, LC
5. I am in Cardiff on the weekends and in Peterborough during the week. I could meet you near either Brum or Cheltenham depending on where you are. Let me know and I'll keep the Squier with me at all times. Cheers, Gary
6. How about a trade for my mint Squier VMJ, all original with the exception of some Schaller strap locks with some bunce your way. I've found out lately that I'm a Precision man! LC
7. How about a trade for my mint Squier VMJ, with some bunce your way? LC
8. Hi there Mike, How are you getting on with the Warwick? I might be interested in the Combo, how heavy is it? Cheers, Gary
9. I've got a Korean Squier P bass which I absolutely love! LC
10. That's bottom clenchingly gorgeous! Beautiful bass and a piece of art too! Good luck with the sale, LC
11. A lot of bass for little money here.....goodluck LC
12. Is this still here??? Awesome instrument for the money... LC
13. Iv'e just taken delivery of a MEX Roger Waters Artist which I got out of its box only last night. Haven't had much time to do anything with it yet but first impressions are good. I ordered the bass from Dawson's and I found all the guys I dealt with there to be knowledgable and extremely helpful. A real delight to do business with. I agree with all the above advice, try lot's of different basses because quality does vary throughout. If you find one that you really love in a shop, haggle. My local shop had the RW up for £767 and when I walked out the door told me I could have it for £583!!!! Got it from Dawsons for £40 less than that again. On a similar note, I bought a Squier 50th Anni Precision from here a little while ago for £100 and I absolutely love it. It's just a very personal thing. Cheers CD_ David. Good luck with your search. LC
14. That is a lovely thing Tom. Love the bound neck and inlays. She'll make someone a very good wife! Good luck LC
15. My dad lives in Benfleet....Sandown Rd to be precise... Have a big Sarfend Bump... I'm from the more gentile Great Wakering myself...where we all ate turnips! LC
16. Mine STILL hasnt arrived from Dawsons! My local shop in Cardiff - Cranes has just had two in and I was twanging one of them not an hour ago. Likes:

Brass nut, helps get that 'punchy' sound and rare on a mid price Bass these days.

Wide neck profile. Nice amount of room between the strings.

SDQP PUP's nice fat warm sound.

Finish looks and feels good. Dislikes:

There is a rather 'garish' brick in the wall logo on the scratchplate film - very cheesy

PUP's are missing the 'basslines' logo????. Just look like standard PUP's to me. Feels nice and plays well, can't wait for mine to 'effing turn up! LC
17.
Given into my GAS and gone and ordered one. I'll post some pics and a review just as soon as it arrives! LC
That'll be no then! Still hasn't turned up BTW. Ordered from Dawsons before Christmas! LC
18. Just seen that every guitar shop in the land is selling these. Has there been skimping on the parts or buiild quality cos they are iro £750? Any ideas, anyone tried one? Asking because my Roger Waters Artist STILL hasn't turned up!! LC
19. +1 to the above. I have two Squiers, a vintage modified jazz and a 50th anniversary precision. Both are extremely well put together and you won't find a bad word about them on here. You will however find a fair few for sale at good prices by fellow bass players who are not looking to fleece anyone. I have bought and sold several basses and amps on here people are very good to deal with. Good luck with finding your first bass. LC
20. Thanks for all your comments chaps. Haven't got dimmer switches on lights and it does sounds like a dodgy solder somewhere. The Amp is an old Peavey 300, but it doesn't buzz with my new VMJ. I think I'll be in the market soon anway for a new(er) and light(er) Amp than the Peavey. Still waiting for my Roger Waters P to arrive. Thanks Again LC
21. Had this exact model and colour back in the day. Great basses Good Luck! LC
22. Whoever got this Bass should be highly impressed with both the quality and the price! Sorry your having to sell your Bass gear Marty, but good luck with your family. LC
