At the moment i am mostly using mine for quiet practice at home, rehearsals sending it's output to the power amp/return socket on the provided bass head. That's a nice tidy pedal board. My guitar pedal board looks like the aftermath of a fight in a rope factory.

I have an EUB and so far have found the best combination to be my Schertler Unico combo which I think is about 180w and a barefaced LF800 powered sub driven from the Schertler's sub woofer or aux output channel. I have it set so that the sub only warms things up without too much emphasis or domination on the low end.

I like looking at new gear but never really had GAS. Like many of us here i have a few really decent basses, cabs and amps that suit me perfectly. I came into bass later in life so didn't go through lots of rigs and basses. I'm not a collector, though i do admire those players who have lots of basses for different occasions as well as sound. There is no gear i'm looking to buy for the forseeable future.

I think i have only heard one Rush album, "Moving Pictures" and i remember buying the album not too long after being introduced to the band by someone at college. I absolutely loved it and the bass playing too. Whilst i do love rock music for the guitar, and before that album came out the only rock bass playing that moved me was John Entwhistle, Phil Lynott, and Ric Grech who played bass on the Blind Faith album. I think it is their tone and the melodic quality of their bass lines that was appealing since at that time I was also listening to alot of jazz fusion where that kind of virtuousity on bass was the norm. Geddy Lee gets the thumbs up from me.🖕

Not looking for anything at the moment. That said i wouldn't turn my nose up if a fairly recent (Year 2000+) series II Alembic short scale bass came up at an affordable price. But i'm not actively looking.

Only if you don't want to exploit the lower bottom end and the choice of a different tonality that you can get from note choices on the B string. I gig mostly with a five string bass these days though because most of the gigs i do benefit from using the B string. I do occasionally use a 4 string live if i am doing gigs where i don't need to go below bottom E.

Well i bought a new case from them for my other bass as well, and they put in padding for the best fit on both cases plus the harnesses so it was an all in price so i don't know the price of the harness on it's own so I think best to ask them directly.

I got them to retrofit one of their back pack harnesses on my existing case so I can put it in the back of the van and carry it round like a gig bag when i need to do the load in. Pretty good.

Good to hear as i recently bought a bass that came with a hiscox case and took a trip to the factory to get some extra padding so that it fits more snugly and a back pack harness so I can carry it around like a gig bag. Really nice people there. We may be touring abroad next year so I was hoping that it would be ok and not have to take a cumbersome traditional flight case. I had considered a bass safe but my gig bag won't fit.

We were Passing the Dutchie and headlining at CamperJam last night in Weston Park. Great audience considering there were a few heavy downpours, there were still shed loads of people who still stayed out to catch our set.

None, don't drink alcohol at all and don't like gigging on a full tummy either. So i guess it's just the natural adrenaline that starts pumping before a gig.

I have a couple of Alembic F-1x preamps and SF-2 superfilter units in separate racks.

My version of a bass rig made in heaven. Alembic preamps, Crown power amp and barefaced cabs of which i have 3 to choose from. BT2, BB2 and Dubster2 that i can use individually (mostly) or any combination. I like a clean hifi sound.

If you are looking for a combo, Pjb Briefcase is 100w and can be battery powered. You can also use an external cab.

Same here, though when i first got mine i did use his sound as reference material so i could explore the controls with a tonal aim in mind. The only time i try to emulate him is if i am covering one of his tracks on a gig. Superb bass though.
