Fender USA don't make closed back tuners! .. but I know which ones you mean To simply answer your question: yes the holes are 11/16ths so the ferrules will fit. but there are so many reason why this is a bad Idea IMO.. firstly, which has been said.. you woud have to drill screw holes for mounting. but more importantly, vintage headstock holes are tapered, smaller on the back and bigger on the front for the ferrules, this is for better alignment and stability!.. yours have the same size hole front to back so there could more string tension weight on the ferrules and mounting screws If not properly aligned and could cause tuning and stability probs! There is also 4 indentations on the rear of vintage heastocks so that the backplate sits flush to headstock which is for better surface contact, alignment and stability. which yours wont have! they are not essential but if you want better surface contact etc.. they will need to be done correctly aligned too!. Hipshot tuners are better IMO because backplates are filed flat so there is no need for the indentations. Also the binding posts (or stems as you call them) are not longer on vintage tuners, they only appear to be because vintage headstocks are physically thinner than yours! .. so you wouldn't gain any length! If your gonna go ahead with doing this anyway.. I would get a good luthier to do the job right. but in all honesty I think it's a daft idea and a waste of money. also, modern tuners are simply better quality IMO too.
Bruce was a Precision man?
lol .. not wrong there!
That's vaguely heartening actually as the only bass-playing Lee I could think of was Will but I knew he mostly played Sadowsky. I dislike Rush with quite an intense passion - one of those bands that make me zoom for the 'off' button whenever they come on the radio, totally unlistenable! Despite my extreme dislike of the screechy Mr Lee's whining voice I do quite like his basses though
No worries Barrie .. I've always had a soft spot for Rush.. especially the early stuff! .. though guess its obvious with a name like EddyGlee!!
i've got one of these, really really great delay. i would gladly have two! the ducked delay (so the delays don't get in the way) is a really ace feature.
Thanks Ted .. seems a shame that it's collecting dust! It really is an invaluable piece a gear with some great features.
And even if it had been the more modern style connection the lead that you use to plug your amp into the mains still wouldn't have fitted. Kettles require a higher rated cable and connectors to withstand the extra current drawn and also the heat generated by the kettle itself. To prevent you from using a standard equipment power lead which won't be adequately rated, the socket on the kettle is slightly different so that it won't fit. You can however use the lead that came with your kettle to plug in your amp, just not the other way around.
Not sure if your quoting me in order to tell me this info!. .. but I already know mate. Its why i don't call them all "Kettle Leads" .. which is just a nickname anyway, but there you go. I will also add.. that the info above is not definitive either! as there are lower watt rated kettles that will accept the leads that your amplifier uses.
Done it a lot for stuff thats connected into mains spurs, But , if you cut the plug off a foriegn KETTLE LEAD, you might find that the colours are not the same as with a UK one. Theyre only cheap, and a moulded plug is a safer bet anyway imo, so why bother ? Just buy one.
I never mensioned foreign Kettle Leads!
I spied that. It was the only pic I could get quick access at my work that would post (tried a few others but most are blocked )
ignore me mate .. I'm turning into my Dad lol
Fits one of these...
Don't wanna spoil your fun mate .. but you really need to look at the ancient socket on the kettle you posted!!

The lead you have Lozz will say the rating on the IEC molded plug (the plug that goes into your amp), they're usually 6A or 10A, some are 13A. but as the PF500 power requirements are 200-240 VAC, 50-60 HZ, 125W .. any of these cables will be fine fitted with a 3A Fuse.

Do you mean 2 pin plug? .. you can just cut the plug off and fit a standard UK plug no probs.
Basic physics says that a 100W amp is twice as loud as a 10W and and a 1000W amp twice as loud as 100W.
You've answered your own question with your first line! .. so if you understand this .. what makes you think 200w (2x100watt amps) will be twice as loud as 100w ?
