1.people I actually get on with and can have a laugh with (lots of sitting around in gigging bands)
Thats pretty much it. Im an easy going guy so most things im cool with as long as were all on the same wavelength
Metal for me. Used to love steve harris ( iron maiden) but it was rex brown (pantera)who made me want to play bass.I have been trying to emulate his style and groove ever since

I don't think my sh*tty Ibanez will get me much
i had this problem at a gig the weekend. My drummer uses a ride cymbal but where the kit was on a rack he couldn't use it because the rack was in the way.As you said a bit of consveration before hand would solved all of this.
If im sharing bass gear I sort it all weeks before the gig
Ive had one for 2 months and its rotten.Id like to know as well as im a bit worried about putting something to harsh on the body as it seems quite soft
I get in from a gig the only things my wife asks are was it good and did you play well.
And the gigs she does come to she see my talking to woman she know that part of gigging is interacting with people and does not pay much attention
If she did say anything id tell her to get a grip
I do enough to get be in the bands I am in.If I joined a band that required someone more then what I could offer I think I would at least try to up my game
thanks for all the responses

I love nothing better then at the weekend driving up north in a sh*tty van playing in a dingy club then crashing on a hotel floor.
But spending money paying for an album to sit on my shelf when I could have a week in the county with the mrs just aint for me
Im either getting old or im turning into a miserable old git lol
