  1. Devin townsend for me. The man can write the beautiful haunting melodies and then the heaviest riffs known to man. His genre hopping is mind blowing. To me he is the modern day Zappa
  2. I use 110,90,70,50 not the tightest tension but I like the strings a bit looser
  3. I have done all the pedals and boards etc, but as NJE says its just more stuff to go wrong. And more often then not I have had issues. At the mo with my Ibby sr500 and my hartke lh500 im getting a lovely piano like tone so it suits me. All I plug in is a tuner
  4. I use 50-110 I think they are a lot better for different tunings. I can drop from standard down 1 step without it making much difference to my neck. You can defo dig in more but my hands get a lot tired quicker
  5. Everything I have bought of their has been ok but I had one occasion where a VM jazz was on there for £180. I thought ill have some of that, So I messaged the seller he was great come and said pick it up in a few days. All going well so far , then get a message from the seller saying someone had offered £220 ,I said i aint stupid and to shove it. Funniest part was, a week later he had the nerve to message me and ask did I still want it
  6. I have recently become sober so my next gig will be the first without a drop of devil juice. I expect the nerves to be there in abundance

  8. I have played plenty of times to hardly anyone but I always say if there is one person there whos really into it, it makes it worth it. Plus sometimes we lay such a great gig were on cloud nine just because of the music

  12. I have not seen it but Tom Araya from Slayer has a bass harness as he had his neck operated on. God knows how his works as you cannot see it visibly live
  13. I totally understand this bit but lifes to short to hang around being unhappy. Take the leap
  14. Heaven - Lemmy in his prime, slayer in the mid 90s Hell- most metal these days, over produced albums
  15. most prob packing it to be honest. fed up with no one going to smaller gigs no matter how much you promote, that's not including the venues that think one facebook post a month is promoting a gig. Even if people do turn up promoters and venues thinking its fine to pay you pennies or a case of beer when they have basically done sod all. At 38 im getting to old for the sodding around and spending loads of money and recouping nothing
  16. 100% spot on for me as well
  17. i loved Therapy in the troublegum era still listen to lots of early 90s british rock
  18. Beethoven- wrote a symphony while almost deaf and conducted orchestras while completely deaf And that's not including his first 2 masterpieces
  19. the wildhearts- earth vs the wildhearts Metallica- ride the lightning Mastodon-blood mountain
  20. Five magics- Megadeth Piece by piece I can just about get through, but playing the whole song still feels like a car crash waiting to happen
