1. Email the seller to try and find out.
2. Guilty, but I had to force myself to do it.
3. I use Hotwire hexcores roundwounds on my headless basses and a custom set of premium roundcore roundwounds (110 85 60 40) on my precision. I've tried lots of different strings over the years, but the Hotwires do it for me... Superb service!
4. When I was 9 I wanted to be 10, now that I'm 45 I want to be 10. I suppose, if I put on 3 or 4 stone and grew a moustache I'd look more like J3ff B3rl1n. Would that make me more talented? More opinionated maybe...
5. Spend your hour with a good teacher...
6. Looks like a proper USA 'P' to me.
7.
You may still be hearing a lot of harmonics, as your speakers create them. If you play a pristine 40 Hz or lower sine wave through a capable speaker with very low THD you can't even discern pitch.
I guess that is 'getting to the bottom of it'...
8. Looks okay to me. Forty quid's a steal. I'd be tempted to go and have a look if I was in Northampton.
9. Did someone say margerine engineer? Sounds well dodgy...
10. Hallo John, Welkom. Mvg Wil
11. Do you have a woodburner?
12. Have a good one Nick! Sorry, can't make it as I have a prior engagement. Wil
13. Looks a bit large for a cello
14. Superb. Thanks amigo, seriously groovy 8mins...
15.
Oh go on then
Thanks Gareth. Wil
16. Serial number BC43280. Very occasional home use only, fully working, and, dare I say it, showroom condition! £55 including postage (UK). Shipped in original box (mint) with original BOSS sticker. 17.
I'm convinced the difference in sound between the "classic" Status sound of the 80s and the current Status sound is to do with the newer basses having a truss rod whereas the older ones were completely rigid and I feel they're brighter and more aggressive (and also more clattery to my ears).
Don't forget the difference in pups. The 'vintage' series II's (and Stratas) had Kent Armstrongs.
18. Don't use eBay.
19. Just to turn it on it's head, if the seller was unaware they had a proper vintage fender for sale and it was being sold at a silly (low) price, would you point it out (or buy it quickly)?
20.
done
Cheers, Lovely bass, good luck with the sale.
21. Take it to a luthier / repairer who can check the instrument and offer some solutions.
22.
Hi all, since the arrival of my Ken Smith I've been pondering about selling my 1996 Wal 6 fretless. It's in mint condition and comes with the original blue dog bone Wal case. Hit me with your serious offers. The bass is in Germany. Oliver
Won't be long before someone asks for a price...
