    They did also at one point seem to have a high failure rate but seems much better these days.

    Rightly so though. Shamelessly ripping off other companies’ still-in-production products (and still doing so (see their Swing)). Fine with them resurrecting stuff where the copyright has lapsed or the original companies are refusing to reissue it though. Occasionally they’ve even come up with some nice original stuff.

    One thing to bear in mind is how different strings affect the sound. I think my tube preamps sound pants with my P bass with Chromes but sound glorious with the P bass with Labellas.

    Slampegg doesn’t break up much unless you push the front end hard. I set my Olympic gain really low. I wonder if would be possible to put a 12AU7 in it instead for much lower gain.

    This came with a bass I bought a few years bag but I don’t use gig bags at all. This one is very good quality, pretty well padded and has lots of space for accessories. Nice shoulder straps too. Free to a good home. Collection from me in Sheffield.
