  1. It is. The ultra has a badass-style bridge, a shiny logo and got rid of the spoke-wheel truss adjustment with the cutaway in the fingerboard, among other changes.
  2. I’ve raised an RMA for this so am returning it. For anyone interested, it’ll be back in stock at Juno in a few days should you wish to buy it from there (this was the last one they had in stock).
  3. Tough question. Probably this, though the Qballs allows you to get the slower attack of the envelope pretty close. In terms of the decay speed, I think the Qtron is closer too. If I didn’t have the Microtron, I’d be pretty happy with the Qtron.
  4. This is the new model. It’s boxed and brand new. It’s very nice indeed, just don’t think it’s going to knock my MuTron off the board so I think I shouldn’t keep it. I am still within the return window on this but thought there might be someone on here who might like to skip the wait. I’ll give it a couple of days, if no one bites, I’ll just return it. Price includes signed-for UK postage. I posted a clip here:
  5. Cool either way. Been meaning to have a trip to gear4music at some point.
  6. @ped, would be good to pit my Microtron against your III sometime.
  7. Mine too. Though I do love the BEF too. Big discovery after I recorded this is to play the BEF with my bass’s tone rolled off, sounds wicked. The Microtron’s envelope follower is lovely and smooth, no warble, a gooey long decay but quick retriggering.
  8. Excellent envelope filter that was a staple for me for a very long time. Incredibly versatile and I used it for both straight-up envelope filter sounds and synth sounds. However, I’m now finding I don’t use this at all as I have synth stuff covered with a couple of digital pedals and envelope stuff using a couple of simpler filters. Basically I’m trying to pare down my setup to what I use most. In great condition. No original box but will be securely packed. Price includes signed-for UK postage.
  9. MXR BEF, Q-Tron Nano, Mu-Tron Microtron IV. Sorry for sloppiness, my hands were freezing. bef nano micro.mp3
  10. It’s similar but a faster attack.
  11. The C4 wasn’t previously controllable via a USB connection on a phone - it only had 1-way audio connection via the input 2 jack. It now has the same functionality as EQ2 and UltraWave in that you can plug a usb cable into the pedal and your phone and have all changes be read from the pedal - move a knob on the pedal and it is updated in real time on the app on the phone. You can also read what presets are on your pedal from the phone.
  12. Latest Neuro app update adds 2-way USB control for the C4.
  13. I found that my low-output pickups didn’t seem to be strong enough to trigger it over anything but a very small range of the sensitivity knob; guess the active preamp in yours will help with that. Hoping to try the Fwonkbeta again next week courtesy of @CameronJ. Quite enjoying the Qtron nano I just picked up.
  14. Cool. Glad you like it. I knew pretty quickly it wasn’t for me. I prefer the less subtle kind and use the C4/Spectrum/FI for the synthy stuff.
  15. Great news! When will it be in your hands?
  16. @bassfan what are your thoughts on it so far?
  17. That’s the same seller as the reverb listing.
  18. It has a sample rate reducer only.
  19. Enjoying this one more than the Supa Funk. It’s a very fast attack on the envelope and a nice smooth decay like on the Micro-Tron. Plenty of range on the resonance control. Still think I prefer the Micro-Tron as it has a more noticeable bwah on the front of the note due to the slightly slower attack.
  20. Should be getting one tomorrow.
  21. I guess so, but as I said, I would have preferred a wider range on the resonance control so knew I wasn’t going to keep it anyway.
  22. Yes, the dual filter thing is very cool. I just found I wasn’t getting great results with my bass, probably because my pickups are very low output, so there was only a small portion of the sensitivity control which gave me useable response. The resonance range is also quite narrow and I like to be able to go from very low to very high. Glad to have been able to try it out though and I’m sure someone else will love it.
