There is definitely noticeable latency on polyphonic pitch detection, especially if using a bass. It’s acknowledged by SA. If playing on a guitar, it’s obviously less as the wavelengths are halved for equivalent positions on the fretboard compared to on bass so the detection time is halved.

Sax On The Web (SOTW) is a long-established (mainly) saxophone forum. I bought and sold on there for years (but haven’t frequented it much the last five years or so). https://www.saxontheweb.net and yes, it does have a marketplace, though it seems trickier to navigate than it used to be.

Which one? The MF101? Well, yes, 4-pole with a huge amount of resonance and a nice drive. Chromatron is only 2-pole but you can get some juicy sounds from it.

Filters with an FX loop are what’s needed. That way, your dry bass signal can be used to trigger the envelope.
