I keep all my patch files (hundreds) in a single folder. I then have a separate folder into which I copy the 99 that I want to load onto the pedal. That way I always know what’s on there.

The software loads a patch into the pedal’s edit buffer. You make changes on the screen and these are sent to the pedal. Stepping through patches on the pedal itself has nothing to do with the editor screen - those are patches that are written to the pedal’s internal memory slots. Communication between the the editor and pedal is one way (except for burning patches to the internal memory slots). When the pedal is connected to the editor, all you’ll see is two horizontal lines in the pedal’s display. If you want to study the factory patches’ settings on the editor screen then you need to load the patches individually via the editor to the edit buffer. That is, click “load” and load the first factory patch, then use the arrow keys to step through them. You can make adjustments to those patches but the changes won’t be stored in the pedal until you write them to the internal memory slots using the “write” command. If you you edit factory patches, I’d suggest renaming them so you can distinguish between them. I suggest reading the FAQ section at the end of the user manual.

Unplug the MIDI cable from the FI MIDI out port; you’ve created an infinite MIDI loop. You only need a cable connected to the FI MIDI in unless you are writing patches to the FI’s memory slots. The display is correct.

The FI software can’t be controlled by MIDI in a straightforward way. However, every parameter in the editor and the pedal is set with a combination of the values of CC98 and C99 to choose the parameter; the value of CC4 is used to set the chosen parameter’s value.

And that’s one reason to get a MIDI switcher! You can simultaneously press and turn the encoder to quickly navigate up or down to any patch.

Four of those patches are ones I made, glad to hear you like them. I’ve made some really nice envelope filter patches and some really nice basses which are all available in the cloud.

The hot hand can be used with anything that has an expression input if it’s the version with the socket in the receiver so wouldn’t necessarily need to be sold together. Also, you might find a buyer who already has a Manta but wants a hot hand. Entirely up to you of course though as it’s your sale. -

As was already mentioned, in the FI there is nothing to fix as such - if one sends PC 1 to the FI it shows 1 in the display. (Though the FI doesn’t make use of it, there are plenty of devices which make use of PC 0, often as a live-panel mode.) Even when using the 0-127 scale, certain controllers, such as the MC6, can be programmed with an upper and lower limit so it’s possible to have the PC scroll function correspond exactly to the 1-99 region the FI covers. Have you downloaded the latest beta firmware of the MC6? They have added the optional offset to switch between 0-127 and 1-128 formats.

You’re missing out. At very least, you’ll get loads of mileage out of an expression pedal plugged in to it to control the modulation. Many of my shared patches morph between two sounds via a pedal or have LFO speed assigned to it.

That makes it sound more severe than it was. Basically users need to make sure to use a switcher which doesn’t apply an offset - i.e. use one which sends 0-127 when it says so rather than one which displays 1-128 while sending 0-127.

I’ve collated all the individual v3 patches I’ve posted into a folder that can be downloaded in one go. Sort via last modified date and it will be near the top.

Thanks. To be honest, I wasn’t deliberately gunning for the Aguilar sound and it’s been over two years since I had one so it’s a distant memory. Two things that bugged me about that pedal is that there was no resonance control and it was not possible to set individual speeds or depths for the two sides. The Spectrum solves all those problems.
