  1. Dave bought a Spectracomp from me last weekend. All sorted and paid for swiftly with friendly and prompt communication throughout. I’d have absolutely no hesitation in dealing with him again. Many thanks, Dave, enjoy the new-found joys of compression.
  2. Bit the bullet and ordered a new one. No idea when I might get it though.
  3. It’s a cool sound. I did a couple of presets for the Source Audio C4 and Spectrum based on this pedal. Did it using online clips as I’ve not managed to get to play one in the flesh yet.
  4. There’s an excellent compressor in the upcoming Source Audio Ultrawave. It’s a mind-blowing distortion pedal but the compressor can be used alone if desired or as part of a distortion preset. Also, it’s dual channel with a loop so you can have two settings at different points in your chain. I just sold my Spectracomp due to this pedal.
  5. That’s because you keep buying massive pedals!
  6. The single knob is perhaps masking the pedal’s true power. You can set it up pretty much however you like and have the knob control multiple parameters in whatever ranges you want. I think it sounds great just using some of the stock TonePrints. (I use the Nik West one.) I’d keep it if not for the fact that the latest Source Audio pedal has a compressor; this means I can change presets via MIDI.
  7. And an MXR BOD, Octamizer, Octabvre III, Octabass and T-16 (which is different from the T47 due to the lack of bleed from the octave up).
  8. @knicknack how did these work out for you? By the way, I got pretty close to the Rhodes bass sound on my summit the other day. Forgot to save at that point though as I was aiming for something else. Definitely doable though but that has three oscillators per voice (or six if I use the bi-timbrality).
  9. There’s an MXR VBO for sale on here.
  10. I sent mine back via the shop I bought from and received a replacement at no cost. It’s been brilliant since I got it back.
  11. Does this have the resistor mod installed? It is standard now but early units didn’t have it. Even though you bought recently, if it was older stock it could still be one of the ones without it. Basically, is it silent when you’re not plucking a note? If there is a chattering noise then it needs the mod doing. MXR will do this for free.
  12. I’m sure you all know what these are. Fantastic one-knob compressor. Now surplus to requirements due to the recent acquisition of a MIDI-controllable compressor. In excellent condition. Has Velcro on the base. Comes boxed with the original unused rubber feet. Price includes signed-for UK delivery. I can usually post the same day, especially if payment is received by 8.30am.
  13. Cool. Thanks for sharing. Added to my playlist.

  15. This one works better in the higher registers. The modulation options on the Subsequent are fairly limited for in-depth sound design so adjusting for different registers isn’t always possible. Might be able to tweak it for bass. Might have a crack on another synth though. I guess poly would be a better choice. I might have a go at the Rhodes bass, though that’s a bit more complex. Yes, happy to share this. Got a reasonable clav one I did too. I’ll get sysex dumps done tomorrow and share.

  17. Damn that’s tight. Those vocal harmonies are gorgeous in the the third song.
  18. @bassist_lewis don’t tease us, please!
  19. Managed to create a pretty cool Wurlitzer patch on the Subsequent 37 tonight. I’ll get a clip tomorrow.
