To save yourself money and a headache, read the end of the manual for tested compatible interfaces as there are some that don’t work properly.
-
Yep, that will work nicely. You can flip between the two modes simply by either playing a midi note or by playing your instrument.
-
The editor is a little different now, but more logical. Have a read of the manual. I wrote it in such a way as to hopefully be easily digestible and wrote a section on building sounds from scratch.

I was very late to the party. It’s 1980s tech so pretty easy really. The format was, until very, very recently still on 1.0! It’s not as daunting as it might seem. Ask if you have questions.
-
I also meant sending notes from the footswitches on the MC6 so you can play the foot pedals while still playing bass.

Some great options out there. This isn’t the most versatile as there’s no direct control over cutoff frequency or envelope shape (unless you buy one of the opto mod cards to swap out) but it sounds lovely as is. The newest 3leaf Proton is worth a look. I’d still like to try out the Chromatron too. For bandpass and upsweep only, the MXR Bass Envelope Filter is brilliant and cheap.- 19 replies

For those of you who do Facebook, I’ve set up an FI user group. I figured it might also pull in some other people who don’t use this forum. Please join and share: Log into Facebook | Facebook

Have you tried sending notes from the MC6? Does your keyboard have a sequencer? You can trigger the FI with a sequencer too. An Arturia Keystep would be a good companion.

I sometimes do.

Mu Tron Micro Tron: Up-Down switch is useless

That’s what the cv input port is for - it allows you to adjust the gain knob remotely with an expression pedal when switch direction. (I originally thought it would function as a pedal wah but it doesn’t and Rand confirmed this to me in a Facebook livestream last week.) I agree, it’s an odd choice. Personally I would have left the up/down as a toggle switch and had the second footswitch activate a pedal wah like on the Xerograph and Wonderlove. And I’m still bummed that they didn’t include a band pass mix mode like on the QTron - absolutely essential for bass.- 19 replies

The FI smokes the super synth, which doesn’t even have a square wave. Minitaur is phat. You might still find you need the Roland. Not all interfaces can handle the large amount of midi data. My Focusrite Scarlett is fine for patch creation, saving and general use but cannot handle the firmware updates or the process of writing 99 patches to the pedal.
-
Nice. Make sure you order an interface to have ready for when it arrives. Roland UM-One MK2 is the most reliable.
-
I've posted some lead sounds to the online database. Below is a sample. Enjoy!

To get the best out of the pedal, you’ll need to get an interface to connect to your pc/Mac. I highly recommend the Roland UM-One MK2 as it’s one of the most reliable. About £25-35 new and essential for connecting to the editor for patch transfer/creation and firmware updates. @Jackemmings is yours on v3 yet?

Done an attempt at the intro for Rush's Tom Sawyer as someone on TB was asking if it could be done:
