  1. I'm writing a lot of patches and posting, sadly while all Spectrum patches can be loaded onto the C4, the opposite isn't true so they have to be reconstructed and uploaded separately.
  2. It's more of an issue on the C4 when trying to get certain synth sounds. There are still loads of great sounds in there but I'd prefer a bit more (i.e. full) control over the envelope shapes.
  3. That’s not quite the case, attack and decay are not independently configurable; it’s either decay-without-attack, attack-without-decay or both at once, and always within pre-configured ranges. And there’s no configurable filter sustain stage. It’s something I and others hope Source Audio might address in a firmware update at some point as it’d open up so much sonic territory. Without it, there are certain sounds which are impossible to recreate. There’s still much to love though. No argument from me on how awesome this pedal is.
  4. Make sure you use an expression pedal and tweak the two control knobs - there’s loads of variation in them.
  5. Got some new patches up; here's a taste:
  6. Some of those sound massive like they are done on polysynths in unison mode (i.e. multiple voices on one note multiplied by however many oscillators each voice has). I won’t be able to replicate those unless you hook up multiple FIs. You might be able to get a similar effect by running into a quad chorus. Might even be able to use the onboard chorus with both delay lines.
  7. It won’t be as fast as some others as I’ve had to map it at actual pitch; I usually pitch down an octave so I can play higher up to get lower latency. In fact, the range played on the record exceeds that of a four-string bass; you’d need a high C string with 24 frets to play the whole thing as recorded. My guess would be that it was done on a Model D and uses the entire 3.5 octave range.
  8. Resonance is pretty low on this, just barely above minimum. I'm not sure what the starting waveforms are on the original. I’ve used a mixture of sawtooth and medium-width pulse as I was hearing some higher harmonics. With at most only 128 steps in the parameters and the fact that these sounds were created on different (and unknown-to-me) synths, it’s only ever going to be an approximation.
  9. And here's Shake Your Body: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1oo8CL5lIQe54U_VOTY9aMQjsh8EKxDHi
  10. @Kiwi Here's my stab at Ain’t Nothin’ Goin’ On: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tqlGUvVNU8swNbrjTX8OhzgEtg4eoN35/view?usp=sharing
  11. @Kiwi let me return the favour: https://open.spotify.com/album/576PUGqZnxuiYzR2bMv70J?si=w2_9wx_RSeGxjGUCducJxw
  12. I’ll do some filtering anyway. I’ll work on the ones that grab me (if I don’t distracted checking out the cool tracks I don’t know). There were quite a few of the newer tracks I recognised thanks to their being played at fitness classes.
  13. @Kiwi, thanks for drawing this to my attention, just listening to the album from which this track is taken and it’s well funky. I’ve made a playlist now. I probably won’t do all these tracks but there definitely some in there that I’d like to do.
  14. Holy crap, you are the spitting image of my brother!
  15. Not quite up to speed but learning to play this accurately on the FI is really forcing me to focus on technique. There's no trickery going on here to get the octaves to jump out, just lots of work on left hand muting and consistent right hand fingering. I found that favouring my rear pickup on my jazz has helped with this but I'm still plucking between the pickups.
  16. Yep, I did this one and shared a while ago. Did Thriller a week or so ago (see above). That’s a big list and should keep me busy. Also happy to check out some new stuff as I haven’t heard everything in the list. @Kiwi Any chance you could create a Spotify/YouTube playlist with those tracks so I can find them all in the same place.
  17. I would be up for having a crack at a few. Perhaps I could make some cash if it's the sort of thing folks might pay a few quid for.
  18. Thanks, Lee. A combination of using the FI and watching a short SBL video made me realise I have some work to do in my right hand. Most of the triggering "faults" are down to my sloppy technique - I wasn't being consistent in my RH fingering and this has forced me to focus a lot. Those fast high pentatonic runs are a bit beastly as they are around the 12th fret which is often an area where notes tend to ring out more so very careful damping is needed. I put my patch up the other day which was the one I used for the previous recording; I've since tweaked this one but not yet uploaded.
  19. OK, this is still a bit messy (partly due to triggering and partly some technique I need to clean up) but I'm pleased with my progress. @Kiwi, I've also altered the patch. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1i7eKQC9bZcs3GFPLMt6INJqxNMjLQc0n/view?usp=sharing
