Luminite Graviton M2 MIDI controller £125 - *SOLD*

And as if that weren’t bad enough, I spent a night in A&E with him last night after he flipped out and I had to call police and ambulance to assist.
-
Definitely not, he’s violent enough as is (and I'm not joking, he’s seriously hurt me a few times in the last few months and I’m desperately trying to get help with him).
-
That would likely end in disaster. For an illustration of what I’m working with, I told him to take it in from the back doorstep, to which he genuinely (and not not the first time in recent history) asked, “which one is the back door?” 🤦🏻♂️

Digging the retro LCD letters.

Teenage door-answering ineptitude means I now won’t get the BassRig until Saturday. A similar fate almost befell the Octabvre MKII I managed to snag but fortunately UPS left it on the doorstep and I was able to ring said teenager as soon as I got the email notification so it could be brought into safety. There may be a board photo tonight.

Origin Effects BassRig Ampeg B15 Fliptop recreation

Nice to see Origin continuing to check in on the parallel thread I created on Talkbass for this. Basically acknowledging the desire but letting us know it takes about two years to develop these products once they start. Let’s hope the next project they start is this. -
I’ll hopefully be getting to borrow one of these soon when I have a bit more time to spend with it.

Just been sent pictures of the first pre-production mini-housing units today. Looking nice.

This is still ongoing and has crept back to over 20. I didn’t keep the VBO for long as ended up scoring a Japanese OC-2 which sounds nicer. Also finally managed to track down another Octabvre MKII (silly money but it’s my biggest pedal-selling regret). I swear, no more octavers for me. I’ve opened the Pandora’s Box of preamp pedals now though. Don’t know how I avoided that for 30 years! Also got a Chase Bliss Billy Strings Wombtone coming which will rectify my one other pedal-selling regret (Wombtone MKII). Still would like to get a Cali76 compressor too. And I just know I’m going to end up buying another analogue lowpass envelope filter at some point. If I could find a not-ridiculously-priced MuTron/Tru-Tron 3X that’d see me right.

I haven’t received it yet. Hopefully tomorrow or the day after (weather permitting). In all honesty, my C4 has been in the box for about a year. I would have thought that something which passed more high end would be preferable. I got to try the FI and C4 through a Barefaced BBII and a TC RH750 when I bought my P bass from @GrammeFriday a few years ago (hi, Nick!) and it sounded absolutely glorious; it really let all the brightness of the oscillators through as well as the meaty bottom end.

This is my second time selling Peter a piece of gear. As before all went smoothly, promptly and with friendly communications. Many thanks.

New Source Audio pedal - ARTIFAKT Lo-fi Elements
Quatschmacher replied to Quatschmacher's topic in Effects
I haven’t tried it yet. Artifakt is currently on my synth board so haven’t used it on bass for a while. I’ll check it out when I next put it back on my bass board. -

Ironically the filter is better than all the ones in the C4 and Spectrum, juicier and full range. -

It does “normal” very well too. -
Well, I fell off the gear abstinence thread wagon pretty spectacularly after just one day. First an Origin BassRig 64 and then a ridiculously inflated Octabvre MKII. I regret nothing, other than foolishly selling the latter years ago for about 45% of what I’ve just paid to get another. (I may need to sell a couple of things to recoup some costs; if anyone is after a Source Audio Artifakt, my spare one may be appearing soon.)

Anyone else interested in this pedal? -
The BassRig pedals can be used through a normal amp: the 1/4” dispenses with the cabinet simulation and has some adjustable parameters so that you can compensate for the amp you’re using. I have no hands-on experience yet as I’m yet to receive the 64 I bought.

I personally wouldn’t buy one on the strength of that video. I would like to hear some more real-world examples.

Playing basslines on the Baritone Saxophone
Quatschmacher replied to joshplaysthesax's topic in General Discussion
A few years old but the bassline to Mel C’s “Blame It On Me” would probably sound good done on bari. -
Well, I didn’t last very long. Just bought @Grav’s Origin BassRig 64!
