That’s a link right there, you click on it and the browser app talks you through the entire process. It’s really good and easy. I’d suggest familiarising yourself with it for future updates. It’s pretty foolproof.
-
True but you either need to do the reset anyway or set the tune base manually (either is fine) or the tuner won’t work properly.
-
Online updater right there:
-
It’s all in the manual. Reset is described in the QuickStart bit.
-
You could’ve used the online updater and it would’ve talked you through it all. Two things, have you loaded the v3 presets on after powering up in boot mode? You need to do this otherwise weirdness ensues. Make sure you perform a reset all or manually set the time base to 440 in the boot menu otherwise the tuner will be squiffy.

That is true. Previously there used to be distribution packages with updates and that's why I worded it like that but they chose to list individual components instead. It certainly might be worth getting the web page tidied up (or change the wording in the manual).

Loads of new features, free to all owners. (I wonder how many others missed this as I did hear of one guy who sold his to buy the "new" one.) Hardware is identical (other than the new decal). I'm not employed by Panda but got involved in the v3 project as a volunteer bug tester/patch programmer but ended up being heavily involved with the design concept (lots of my ideas made it into the new firmware) and I wrote the new manual.

Is the fact that it's a free update for v1 users not clear from the website or manual? If not I need to do something about that! Yes, get on it! And report back! Bonus late Christmas gift for you today then.
-
Aren't you planning to update your firmware to v3? The hardware is exactly the same so as long as you have a USB-to-MIDI connection (which I presume you have as you said you've been using the editor) then you can perform the update. What firmware version are you using at the moment? The twinkles effect is only achievable in v3 anyway so I'd really urge you to update your firmware.

Tom at Cog Effects. @Al Krow mentioned a London-based guy recently too.
-
It's massively improved with loads of new amazing features (but still can be used exactly as before). Have a read of the information in the first two posts of this thread. You should absolutely update to it! It's a free and relatively-easy firmware update for v1 owners.

@AinsleyWalker, ask away here.

Thanks. I've published loads of my patches on the official Future Impact Online Database, though mostly these are my older ones. I've put a few new ones up in the last few days though and 21 of the factory patches are mine: https://auraplug.com/fidatabase2/ There is a helpful section at the end of the manual on creating your own patches and how to recreate certain effects. If you want any specific pointers then feel free to ask it on the dedicated FI v3 thread and I'd be happy to help out.

You’ll need a USB-to-MIDI interface such as the Roland UM-One MKII. Some audio interfaces with MIDI ports will work too but not all are able to handle large data files (my Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 can’t). Then either download the firmware and editor here: http://pandamidi.com/support or easier still, click on the link above and then follow the link to the online updater (google chrome only) which holds your hand through the process.

That’s a shame. I imagine a few will turn up used now that the MC8 has launched.

Stomp plus Morningstar MC6 controller is a good option, both nice and compact.
