  1. I've just uploaded a little experiment for any Morningstar MC6 MKII owners. It's in the Online Program Database and is called "QM MC6 Chord Test 1". If you download my SysEx file for my MC6 and load it, then bank 2 will give you access to 6 chord types in on 6 buttons. The two expression inputs control modulation and synth volume. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to import and export a single MC6 bank so make sure you back up your controller before trying to load my SysEx file. File is here.
  2. I know I probably answered that on the fi thread, but am repeating in case anyone was reading here - it will default to 440 once you’ve performed a reset once after updating. Basically, there are extra lines of code in v3 so certain parameters are either on code lines that never existed before or are on different, but previously-existing lines. These lines need to be “flushed”. In the case of lines that are patch parameters, this is taken care of when one loads the the new factory soundset. The lines pertaining to global features need to be reset manually or automatically via the boot menu. Once done, it will perform as expected.
  3. You don’t necessarily even need to sacrifice a switch for changing pages as you can assign multiple messages to a button. You could have a long press be the command that switches pages but you could still use that button with any of the remaining actions.
  4. Already done, hopefully it’ll help. I don’t feel like I bit anyone’s head off. It certainly wasn’t intended that way. If you mean @GisserD‘s response, I read that as more of an eye roll. You’re welcome. Presumably it solved the accuracy issue.
  5. Sorry, did I miss something? Who bit whose head off and when exactly? Not to my knowledge. And not everyone has the time or inclination to repeat information to those who don’t feel inclined to do a bit of reading, especially when that information is already clearly explained. (Though I seem to be doing it a lot.)😆
  6. True, it could probably be added there too, though there is limited space for information. The idea of the updater was to make it short and clear. Even now some users have overlooked clear information. I’ll see about adding it to the instructions document though. It is mentioned in 3 relevant places in the manual including the FAQs.
  7. Also, again, this is clearly mentioned in the section of the manual on updating the firmware:
  8. I played a 3x the other day and it was great.
  9. The part about where to put the knob in order to see the parameter value is covered twice - in the “editing the parameters” section in both the quick start guide and the main manual, but probably worth mentioning explicitly in the part dealing with tune base in the FAQ section at least. The page you quoted does indeed tell users to turn the dial to see the parameter value, contrary to what you claimed:
  10. 440 is the default. Basically the “problem” occurs due to the restructuring of the program code between v2 and v3 (same reason why you need to wipe all 99 preset slots and overwrite them with v3 presets before doing anything else). There are more lines of code so certain parameters got shifted to different line numbers. Once it’s been done, the problem won’t come up again. Also, it is obvious if people read the manual as it is mentioned in no less than three different places. At the very least, I’d urge everyone to read the FAQs at the very end of the manual.
  11. It’s where Source Audio is most active and where a lot of the development discussions took place. It’s a bit quiet otherwise for the stuff I follow.
  12. The ADSR controls are changeable but only by swapping out the opto-mod cards.
  13. Have you posted on TB/the gear page too? Purple is very popular.
  14. Worth asking Tom at Cog to see what he’d charge.
  15. https://www.mu-tron.com/products/micro-tron-iv/ @Bo0tsy, I guess you’ll be buying one of these.
  16. All in the manual, my friend. Read either the section on the boot menu or the FAQs.
  17. Is your FI’s tune base set to 440? If you didn’t reset it after updating to v3, it will be sharp.
  18. The FI accepts only 5-pin MIDI input. An expression pedal has a TRS connector. You need a piece of equipment to choose which MIDI CC message the expression will control and which has a 5-pin MIDI output. A cheap solution is the Source Audio Hub (and a good choice if you have a Source Audio pedal in your setup). Otherwise there are plenty of other choices from Boss, Disaster Area, Line 6, Morningstar etc that will serve your needs. If you don’t need it to be foot controlled, you could simply use an iOS or Android device with a MIDI app and control changes via the touch screen.
  19. What does “one notch” represent in terms of cents on that tuner?
  20. Probably the cable as some cheaper cables can’t handle large data streams.
  21. What is the accuracy of the other tuners? The FI is accurate to 3 cents (i.e. three hundredths of a semitone) which is plenty accurate. It’s stable for me.
  22. What will you be running the expression pedal through? There aren’t that many expression pedals that work as a stand-alone unit.
