  1. Also experiment with running the fuzz and octave in series vs in parallel, and play around with where in the chain you place the chorus too. Fuzz>chorus + octave will give a different result from octave>fuzz>chorus, as will enabling/disabling the dry signal on the latter setup.
  2. This is what got me into the music. Frankly the studio album was a bit of a letdown after this as I much preferred these stripped-back versions. Great backing vocals too.
  3. Check Scary Pockets too (much of the same bunch of people).
  4. I’ll play though I may not be in long. Is this just for bass-related gear (i.e. are synths exempt)?
  5. Please consider supporting this amazing Lego project. It’s a 1:1 scale model. Support costs nothing: merely create a Lego ideas account and click a button. https://ideas.lego.com/s/p:6c5ba1dec5d442219f3d0a4be46b8db2
  6. Please amend the title of the first post to include the word “sold” and it will auto-lock the thread.
  7. Yeah, I had the same thought when I saw one a while ago. Or the makers have a keen sense of irony.
  8. If you plan on getting the Morningstar new then either from https://thorpyfx.com/collections/morningstar-engineering or from https://shop.morningstar.io
  9. You can do the programming on the Morningstar pedal itself but it’s a bit cumbersome (this is where Mortrix excels). However, the Morningstar app is browser-based so no need to install software and it’s very easy to use. There’s also a mobile version. You can play around with both versions without having a pedal connected to check the interface out.
  10. Looks like it should. Haven’t heard of this one before so can’t vouch for reliability or continued firmware support though. (I’ve used Morningstar for years and have worked with them on features and firmware updates for the past few years so can absolutely vouch for them, hence my recommendation.)
  11. You’ve got the Octabvre Mini, right?
  12. Thanks for thinking of me. Had seen this on Facebook earlier this morning. Kind of ruing not having kept the Moog one that I bought new for £270 about 7 years ago. 🤦🏻‍♂️
  13. A bit pricier than what you may have in mind but a Morningstar MC3 or MC6 is what I’d recommend. These will unlock loads of potential in the FI and if you add any more MIDI pedals in the future, they’ll be able to control those too. They come up used reasonably often. Panda make their 4Control, which allows up to 2 double footswitches or two expression pedals (or one of each) to be connected.
  14. Something like Roland UM-One MK2. For the FI 4, any generic USB-to-MIDI cable should work (though I’ve not tried to see if my phone would handle such a cable yet). If using an iPhone then the Apple Camera Connection Kit adapter is also needed. In terms of apps, the free version of TouchOSC, Midi Designer Pro X or any of the other free MIDI controller apps which can send CC and PC messages will work.
  15. Must get me one of those. Also, how’s the Taylor Shift? Would love to try one; been looking at their SubZero v2.
  16. Do you want a footswitch option? I ask because your phone/tablet can do this with the correct connecting cable and a free app. Personally I’d recommend a controller that also has at least one expression input port so you can take advantage of the extra FI features. You can also use the FI editor to reorder your patches so you can group the ones you use right next to each other, that way you can use the built-in switch to navigate with minimal presses. Also worth reading through the main FI thread for ideas.
  17. Good find and a great price.
  18. Ah yes, it’s been Christmas and you got one as a gift. Glad to hear you’re enjoying it. I have mine set fairly close to flat: bass at 2 o’clock, mid at 11 o’clock set to 300 Hz and treble at noon, grit at 9 o’clock set to B15 mode. Using a P bass with labella 750FS. The Flex does sound a bit different (probably closer to the Broughton Fliptop) and I can’t decide which I prefer.
  19. Got an Ampeg SGT-DI and Shift Line Flex but would still love for this to become a reality.
  20. Could it be that the tube has just worked loose in transit a bit? Might be a simple case of having to screw it back in snugly. Hope you get a quick resolution.
  21. I’m thinking of this too. My solution may be to put my “core” pedals on the upper tier of my Aclam board and detach it when I just need those few.
  22. I’d potentially be up for it, depending on date. I’d be on public transport most likely, unless able to car share with one of the other Sheffield area folks on here.
  23. To get rid of it, you can manually choose the thumbnail from a url. It’s a bit fiddly as you need to navigate to your image, copy the location then edit out a bunch of extra info from the address before copying the link. Or ask an admin to fix it for you.
