Don’t think it’s a sticking point, in the same way that hitting two keys on a monosynth would cause grief, having two notes ringing on the bass when using the FI will give squiffy results. Clean playing and adequate muting between notes is mainly what’s needed. Pitch tracking on the filter makes tracking a bit less swift. This is the case on FI and C4.

For Mac users who might have been experiencing problems after updating to Catalina where the FI firmware update or patch writing doesn't work, please remember to update the driver for your interface too! This particular issue came up for @SICbass with his Roland UM-One MKII and there is an updated driver which fixes the issue: https://www.roland.com/global/support/by_product/um-one_mk2/updates_drivers/e1812bfc-104a-4a18-a1db-b07980c0732c/

Short keyboards are a royal pain to me but I'm sure there'll be folks who love this. Frankly I'm still miffed that they still haven't made a firmware update which adds exact BPM to the LCD screen of the regular model.

I guess a lot of R&D has gone into this. It’s way beyond what I want to spend on a pedal. They have also got another one in this format as they’ve done a collaboration with Meris too.

Looks like some images are out. https://www.sequencer.de/blog/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/sequential-pro-3-se-top-view-800x421.jpg

Yep, it’s a great idea that means you can have presets but have actual visual feedback of the real parameter settings. He intends to use this format for other future pedals (I met him at Superbooth last year and we talked about MIDI, presets and the frustration of the lack of visual feedback). I’d really like to see this do well.

It is a lot of coin but as I said, Joel spent ages trying to break it to make sure it would stand up to abuse and, as I understand, gigs with all his own pedals. What other pedals with faders would survive liquids?

It sounds fantastic too. It’s not a gimmick, he’s put a lot of thought and effort into this and to making it gig-damage-proof.

This amazing invention is finally in production. A MIDI pedal with presets and motorised faders so that correct knob positions are shown for each preset. https://www.chaseblissaudio.com/shop-pedals/preamp-mkii

Just had a funny thing happen. I paid a deposit for an Industrial Radio MIDIBass at the end of December and the payment has still not cleared into the company’s account nearly two weeks later. I contacted my bank today to find out what was going on and it turns out that the intermediary bank (HSBC US) has held the payment as being suspicious. My reference was IRN-## which is my invoice number. I got asked if the payment was related to Iran and was asked a whole bunch of other security questions and asked for information about what the payment was for etc. Was tempted to say that I normally pay for my arms to rogue states using bitcoin!

Sounds like two minor 7 chords a 4th/fifth apart then a minor II-V going back to the start (I) chord.

Recently sold some cables to Tony. Prompt payment and friendly and timely communication. Many thanks.

Also of note is that there is now an undo/redo feature within the editor using the standard commands of CTRL+Z and CTRL+Y. You can now also use the UP and DOWN cursor keys to skip banks in the editor. The new skin is nice too:

GREAT NEWS! Copied from @Andras Szalay‘s recent TB post: Dear FI users, we have one good news for you: we released recently version 3.03 of the Future Impact v3 software. It came a bit late for a Christmas present, but anyway... First of all, the bug that the FI had to be on MIDI channel 1 for using it with the editor is fixed now, the FI can be set to any channel. A few new MIDI commands were implemented: Program UP, Tuner ON/OFF toggle, Bank UP Bank DOWN. The manual was updated appropriately. Furthermore, a new version of the editor belongs to this release: beyond many minor bugfixes you can select different skins for the editor now. I hope you will enjoy the new release! Andras Szalay

Am pretty tempted to get one of these after listening back to my old recordings of my Doom, Wonderlove and Octabvre. Don’t have any of them now.
