  1. Damn, I had a wanted ad up for Labella 760FL strings.
  2. Check out the Source Audio Gemini (or Lunar or Mercury as they are all capable of using the SA chorus models). If you want to go large, check out Chase Bliss’s “Warped Vinyl”.
  3. They do make P and PJ versions too.
  4. Quick reply here. PM me if you want more details or go to the Future Impact thread: This does everything the Deep Impact did (the first nine sounds are the original Deep Impact sounds). It does so much more. You don’t need to be a wizard at programming to load other people’s patches onto it. I’ve literally written the book on this pedal (the new manual) which should make everything a lot clearer when the new update is released.
  5. True, though they intend to add it. Actually, switching off open string triggering helped to improve the playing when I played an IR bass earlier this year.
  6. As I said, there are other options: http://frettrax.com/ You can get the system retrofitted to any bass or buy one of theirs.
  7. I’ve watched a video from the factory; on the maple board versions they slice off the top of the neck (including at the headstock), route the truss rod cavity and fit it then glue the slice back on so the join is barely noticeable.
  8. If anyone needs persuading, here are some patches I’ve written for this:
  9. I’ve got an (almost) final version of the manual ready. Just debating whether to have the section on using the FI to replace standard effects pedals in the main body or to leave it in the appendix. Then just need to add pagination and check final layout so that tables aren’t going over two pages etc.
  10. It’s what’s inside that counts and jazz and precision basses have an almost universal appeal so I can see why they chose those designs. If you wanted something more exotic looking then you could check out frettrax instead.
  11. Not likely at the moment, I’m pulled out with FI stuff which is taking up all my spare time.
  12. Nope, Men Imitating Machines use one live.
  13. And about to get much better very soon with the v3 firmware update.
  14. Anyone who wants a few patches I programmed while I borrowed @GisserD's pedal is welcome to them: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1gkWYxbOWDlSKMa53rNeXJOEAK_tguYlw
  15. The FI can be used with expression pedal, albeit via another piece of gear (which many people may already have for switching presets). I use my Source Audio Hub. And the synth capabilities are lightyears beyond the SY-1 (if one needs them as I realise lots of folks will be happy with the more limited scope of the Boss).
  16. Just had a look and it seems they’ve made these a bit cheaper by taking out the screen and selector switch (and possibly the passive tone control, which is a bummer). Looks like the P and PJ will be added and if they’ve decided to make those available in ash and alder then I might well get one after all, if the exchange rate didn’t continue to suck. https://industrialradio.com.au/
  17. All scheduled features have been added now! Just ironing out the bugs and finessing.
  18. For ease of use here are all my v3 samples so far:
  19. I've managed to coax a phaser out of the FI!
  20. Can’t remember if I’ve already posted this link in this thread. Here are my C4 patches. Newer ones appear at the bottom of the list. Just added some tasty FM basses last night:
  21. These are sold out everywhere at the moment. If anyone needs any convincing, here are some of the patches I’ve written for it so far and all are freely available on the cloud.
  22. I’m fairness I did post it to TB and uploaded the patch to the cloud.
  23. Already done. It did take a bit of thinking about while I was at work. The patch is here: https://neuro.sourceaudio.net/preset/PBpBeiOGJB
  24. I’ve managed it!
