How did I not know this was possible? MS-20 has a built-in pitch-to-CV converter! This means one can play synth with the bass using the pitch and trigger cv.

There are a few videos from NAMM with the IR bass: @CameronJ, @Al Krow, @GisserD, @Bo0tsy, @lee650, @tonyxtiger

Thanks for your reply. I’m sorry you had such a bad experience with them.

@elephantgrey, @Kev, you both own one of these, or have done. What are your thoughts on this pedal?

Anyone on here got one of these? I’m looking to get one but they are taking ages to get new stock made and shipped. Care to share your views on it?

I do like the idea of the sculpted heel; that’s a thing I love about my Sterling. I’m not too bothered about any of the other changes though. I’m GAS-free on this one.

Anybody used the Sonuus G2M V3?
Quatschmacher replied to Quatschmacher's topic in Accessories and Misc
Well, I answered my own question by getting one. Sadly it was a bit disappointing. Probably OK on guitar or if you only need slow-attack sounds. For snappy basslines in the lower registers it was pretty useless. I returned it (and am still waiting for my refund from GAK). -

Fxpedalrentals.com is no longer trading at present. Darren’s other business required more time and energy so he needed to stop (at least for the present time). That being said, he may still be able to negotiate something.

Indeed. I’m now looking at the Phatty range for the extended pitch range, waveforms and modulation capabilities. Btw, if you’d like me to share the sysex files of the ten or so Minitaur patches I created then let me know and I can upload them.

It is really great sounding. I do wish they hadn’t chosen to limit its pitch range though.

I sent them a message but they’re probably very busy at NAMM. I did read in the forum that a couple of people have had this issue. One guy ended up just getting a new unit, which solved the problem. Both the ones I tried have the same problem so I’ll wait for word back from Moog as to whether it’s a hardware or a firmware problem before deciding to repurchase it.

Yes, it was ok for slower tempo stuff and/or longer note lengths but it struggled with sixteenth notes. What bass are you using? I tried it with my jazz basses and it was better on the neck pickup. It sucked on my Sterling. Sadly my P Bass is with the luthier at present so I didn’t get to try that and I suspect that might have been the best option.

On another note, I sent the Sonuus back as it just wasn’t cutting it. Probably ok on guitar or for slow pad sounds but for syncopated basslines it was sadly unusable.

Boohoo, I had to take the Minitaur back today as the pitch CV input wasn’t working properly. I’d installed the latest firmware (2.2.1) and plugging an expression pedal into the pitch CV input resulted in it spitting out the highest C the unit produces but nothing in between. The assistant and I spent ages messing about with various settings. We installed a previous version of the firmware and ran the calibration routine and got it working. So we installed the latest firmware and ran the routine again only it didn’t work. So we rolled back to the previous firmware again and ran the routine; this also now didn’t work. I ended up getting a refund and planned to come back when they get another in. Later on in the day as they were closing I asked when they’d likely get another in. He looked on the system and found that they’d actually got another in stock! So we tried that one and it had the same problem! I’ve asked him to contact Moog to report it as I think it’ll carry more weight coming from them and their distributor. So, back to square one. @tonyxtiger, does your pitch CV input work OK? @andybassdoyle, did yours?

I’ve ended up sending the G2M back today. It’s going to have to be some kind of MIDI bass instead.

There are bright and dark flats. It is an option to play them with a pick too. 😀

Just saw a video of this being used, it’s interesting: https://www.mindmusiclabs.com/
