  1. Yes, the control over the parameters via expression pedals and the possibilities for connecting to other gear is great on the Moog stuff. I’m sure I’ll probably regret taking them back soon enough and buy them again! I’d really like to try it with the control processor unit to see what else it can do. With that it is possible to alter the shape of the envelope via the attenuator. The filter paired with the phaser was a great sound. Congratulations on the Matryoshka, it sounds cool. If you fancy posting some clips that’d be appreciated. I’m looking at getting a Moog synth as I’m really into these sounds now.
  2. It’s a great sounding filter, the envelope control wasn’t as sensitive as I would’ve liked and there’s no down sweep.
  3. I’ve been using 50-105 Chromes on my Sterling for years and love the sound.
  4. I can heartily recommend Metronomics as hands-down the best metronome app I’ve come across. It was recommended to me by a Leeds College of music teacher. It’s by Jon Nastos. He’s also made a great tuner app and harmony/pitch training app. He’s really approachable and incorporated a few improvement suggestions I had.
  5. Does it do “standard” envelope controlled filter sweeping?
  6. Yup, which is why it’s a quiet pedal (in a good way) too. Same goes for the Xerograph.
  7. My local shop has a reissue Model D which I’ve played a couple of times and is fun. It’s less daunting than the Subsequent and the bigger keyboard is a plus. It is more limited in terms of routing options though.
  8. Been eying the Model D clone for months. One thing I can’t see is how (if at all) it is possible to calibrate it.
  9. Isn’t there still one for sale on here? My Fwonkbeta was bested by my Qballs.
  10. @elephantgrey, do you have any clips or videos of your protostar? It’s one that I’m seriously considering getting (if anyone in Europe ever gets one in stock again).
  11. Anyone used one of these? They look interesting: https://subdecay.com/effect/prometheus-dlx
  12. Never heard of this one. I’ll check out clips when I’m back where my headphones are. Thanks, Cameron.
  13. I’ll have to check out the Matrixbrute too. Looks pretty overwhelming. I find all the stuff with hidden menus and combination button presses a bit daunting (despite being fairly technically-minded). I’m a total synth noob so something with direct access to parameters might be good for me to learn the ropes.
  14. Thanks for your reply, @Woodinblack. Yes, I’ve had my eye on the Behringer D since I first became aware of it. Still awaiting its becoming available. I do love the sound of the Minimoog D so that is high on my list. However, you’re quite right, it’s a lot of cash for something that isn’t my first instrument (and one that is monophonic). I’m thinking for the time being I might buy Native Instruments’ Monark to get me started.
  15. Hi people, after messing with synth pedals for bass I’m thinking I might just dive in to getting a Moog. Need to decide which one. Perhaps a Subsequent 37 would be a good and affordable starting point but I wonder if I’m going to quickly hanker after the third oscillator available on the D and Voyager. On the one hand, I like the very hands-on approach of the model D but am also drawn by the ability to save patches on the other two models. Not sure whether I’d need to have a sequencer and arpeggiator but it might be fun to experiment. Anybody on here for experience with these 3 units? I haven’t yet been able to try the Voyager. This could be the thin end of the wedge; I’m pretty sure I’d like to have some kind of polysynth too as I’m very into harmony (something like a Prophet or Oberheim). Anyone near Sheffield have a Voyager who’d be willing to show me?
  16. Indeed it does. Shame he got rid of the filter knobs for each voice.
  17. Broughton Audio has a new octave pedal, though not as feature-laden as the Broughctave: http://broughtonaudio.bigcartel.com/
  18. Also, Broughton Audio has a new octave/synth pedal, though it doesn’t look as good feature-wise as his discontinued Broughctave. http://broughtonaudio.bigcartel.com/
  19. Looks like Bax have better access to the PM2 now - says ships quickly, within 4 business days.
  20. If I remember correctly, the TU-3 is one of the Boss pedals that has both a power in and power out socket. So you can use a normal Boss 9V adaptor to power it, then use a daisy chain cable to run from the power out socket of the tuner into the power in socket of the envelope filter. It'll easily drive those two pedals.
  21. I wish this had been around in August as I was looking for one then. I bought a Japanese one in the end. Do you still have the original pickups and tuner?
