  1. Near Nottingham, unless he’s moved since I was in touch about this earlier in the year.
  2. “Together As One” by Dinosaur is a great album (was nominated for a Mercury Prize too).
  3. Sold Ryan my Filter Twin. Really straightforward transaction and good communication. Many thanks.
  4. The It will be a gated fuzz like the lovetone big cheese.
  5. Got a reply today. This was a prototype which never made it to production; apparently it was too noisy. The new one will have some kind of fuzz too apparently.
  6. I’m wondering if this is the basis of Olivier’s new (Glou Glou) filter: Although the videos are three years old, so maybe not.
  7. As it happens, I’m in Sheffield so Manchester isn’t too far. I’m also in The Netherlands (Limburg) later this month so it might be possible after all.
  8. That’s about what I paid new. Also, the Deja Vu is the 2-LFO model (no envelope control) so not interested.
  9. @HazBeen, thanks for the info. This is really tempting. Where are you based? (Wondering if I might be able to try it out easily as it is a lot of cash.)
  10. Thanks, Cameron. Indeed it is a great filter and super easy to dial in. I just want something with which I can vary the resonance to taste.
  11. A great filter, I just want to explore others with more parameters. In excellent condition. Price includes recorded delivery. (Add £5 if you require special delivery). No original box with this one, I’m afraid but it will be securely packed. Any questions or further photo requests then please ask. I respectfully request no trades and no offers, thank you.
  12. I might be listing mine shortly. @ordep, did you have more than one interested party for the FT? If so, would you be so kind as to direct them to me? Thanks.
  13. No. I’d rather explore stuff which doesn’t require an extra pickup.
  14. Sorry to hear that. I was looking forward to finding out about these.
  15. I’m actually still only at the beginning of the journey. The only one I own is the Subterranea. I had the Future Impact on loan for a couple of weeks. I think I already mentioned that I loved the sounds but found it didn’t really feel right in terms of responsiveness to playing; some settings yielded a sluggish feel or incorrect pitches triggering. I must say, I’m tempted by the Boss SY-300 that’s listed here after checking out some videos. It’s a lot of cash if I find I don’t like it though. It’s definitely one I’d like to rent.
  16. I’m interested to hear your thoughts on why you’d choose the FI over this. How does the tracking compare? I found on certain voices the FI struggled and would sometimes retrigger the previous pitch even though I’d played a new pitch (mostly with faster lines). I loved many of the sounds in it and never even touched the editor software. Can this cop the following FI presets? 1, 3, 32, 85?
  17. Yes, it did but I only heard it in summer after seeing them at a festival I was playing at. In my defence, I think the initial post was ambiguous in its wording and I wasn’t sure if it meant “favourite album released this year” or “favourite album heard this year”. There’s a broadcast of one of their recent orchestral gigs airing on Radio 2 on Wednesday.
  18. I love the way one gets a picture of a situation and person in Joni Mitchell’s songs, like short stories. A carefully chosen and economic use of words which lead the listener to fill in the gaps:
  19. Yep, “Edith and the Kingpin” and “The Hissing of Summer Lawns” are outstanding tracks. Many of these albums can be listened to in their entirety on youtube.
  20. Indeed. I learned a couple of his solos by listening to them on cd over and over until I got them down.
  21. I still need to check this one out, thanks for reminding me.
  22. And still no one has mentioned Joni Mitchell. The amount of good music in the world is mind-blowing, which is why I find it astonishing when people spend so much time listening to absolute shite. (I’m not referring to anything or anyone mentioned above, just to be clear.)
  23. As I said, these are 3 of my real favourites. I just have more than 3. The Chris Potter album I listened to 3 times daily for three months solid when I got it. The AC album not quite as much but it wasn’t far off. And “Kind Folks” off the KW album is a melody that still makes me weep when I even think about it. Also, I thought that part of the point was to get a list of stuff that people ought to listen to. Therefore mentioning albums already mentioned seemed counterproductive. (Twist my arm and I might replace KW with “Mothership Connection” though. I remember dancing around my living room with my infant son in my arms the first time I heard that album.)
