  1. Damn, missed this one (and you missed my wanted ad too).
  2. The Aftershock arrived today and all appears well. Thanks!
  3. OK I went a bit mad there and started worrying (seriously) about my mental health and addictive buying behaviour. I’ve ended up returning the Moogerfoogers and the Glou-Glou and feel a lot saner already.
  4. POG stands for “polyphonic octave generator” so yes, it does!
  5. Seriously just get one already, there are plenty in the for-sale section. ? I actually thought the T-16 sounded more synth-like, and by that I mean buzzy. That’s because you can open its filter right up. Even with the filter open it is very fat. It also gets way dubbier as closing the filter cuts off all the high end. By comparison, the MXR has two fixed voices, each with its own volume knob. The “growl” knob on its own it quite OC-2-like but thin as doesn’t have the full bottom end. You need to blend in some of the “girth” to achieve that. You need to strike a balance as adding “girth” seems to mask some of the buzzy character. Think the MXR really shines when you blend in clean signal and being able to use the mid boost makes a big difference (and I haven’t even tried flipping it to the other frequency or adjusting the gain). You will be pushed to find an analogue octave pedal that plays as tightly and tracks as well as this. What do you mean by “clean octave”? Are you describing the character of just the sub signal? Do you mean something like “devoid of buzzy high-end overtones”? Do you Class the T-16 with the tone rolled off quite far “clean octave”?
  6. My local shop: Rich Tone in Sheffield. Darren at fxpedalrental.com has one too.
  7. I know - about £1300 since Friday last week. I have no savings now. I may have to move a few other pedals to recoup some money. Hard choices though.
  8. Holy cow, I’ve done it now… Moogerfooger lowpass filter and 12-stage phaser! I’m now officially on a self-imposed buying ban! Kind of wishing I’d bought yours now, @roman_sub as I could’ve saved about £160!
  9. Guys, you need to add the Data Corrupter by EarthQuaker Devices to the list. I got some insane sounds out of it when testing one today. It'd take a while to learn everything it can do and took me a bit to get more controlled sounds out of it. I wish I’d had time to run it into a filter. @CameronJ, have you tried one of these?
  10. Went for the Avant Garde in the end (dual envelope follower) as I can use the CV in for crazy LFO if needed. Thanks for your opinion on the Sonuus.
  11. There's a postmodern for sale here on basschat right now!
  12. How was it in terms of tracking, repeated notes, fast changes between notes and translating volume/velocity?
  13. This is worth throwing into the mix: Sonuus i2M musicport MIDI Converter & Hi-Z USB Audio Interface https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005PM4UK4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_KsyiAbJZZ4ES1 Basically you could then hook up to any MIDI-enabled synth and play it with your bass.
  14. I’d say I’d fight you for it but you’d whup my donkey! (OK the site’s autocorrect/censorship is freaking me out!)
  15. I do. My point is that Vulfpeck don’t release CDs now (though occasionally they release vinyl).
  16. I had a fender Precision Bass Special California Series which was passive, US-made (painted in Mexico to get around chemical laws), PJ pickups, P body, J neck and it was really good. They were only made for a couple of years and are well worth seeking out.
  17. Yep, from the interviews he says it’s an old set and he probably has the tone rolled off a fair bit. It was This that led me to try rotosounds for the first time (I’ve been playing 23 years) and they are amazing! Turns out Jack used them too. I’ve never really been into roundwounds as I usually find them too bright and clanky. Even though these are very bright they sound so damn strong. Mine are starting to darken now after a month’s playing in and they sound fantastic on my Jazz.
  18. Except it’s mostly online only. (I still haven’t embraced non-physical but I might be forced to now.)
  19. An alternative is the 2016 American standard PJ from the “magnificent seven” line. Precision body, Jazz-width neck, CS PJ pickups, all passive. I managed to score one on eBay now the UK but mostly they were in the USA. Give the new American Professional Precision a try though. I usually can’t play Precision necks but these were really comfortable, to the point where I’d consider selling my PJ to buy a straight P.
  20. I wonder if the Mothership 2 does this like its predecessor:
  21. @Al Krow, talk to @CameronJ; he has had an Aftershock for a while now. It was his that I tried when we met up in London.
  22. I bagged an as-new Sentry on eBay. Thanks for the tip, @CameronJ!
