    Finally, after 30 years of bass playing, a Japanese OC-2. Only the 2nd OC-2 I’ve ever played (the Taiwanese one next to it is one I just borrowed a few weeks ago).

    Brilliant octave pedal in outstanding condition. Now surplus to my needs. I have owned this from new. (It had a brief couple of months with someone else when I sold it but later bought it back again.) For anyone unaware of this, Dunlop borrowed Janek Gwizdala’s Japanese OC-2 to use as a benchmark for creating this pedal. Huge sound in a tiny enclosure in a rather fetching blue sparkle. Comes with original box, paperwork and UK power supply. Price includes mainland UK postage via Special Delivery. Never been velcroed. This one was purchased after the extra noise reduction resistor was added as standard. (Early units had a noisy detection circuit, but Dunlop will fix/replace any of those for free, even if warranty has expired or you aren’t the original owner. Great customer service!)

    Glad to hear you’re enjoying it. I’m still using my MC6 Pro too, even though I collaborated on Mortrix. There are still a few things the MC does which Mortrix doesn’t that I find useful, mainly the dynamic text on switches that can show different text/numbers depending on state; hopefully that will be added to Mortrix at some point (it was something I pushed for from the outset). The other thing is the ability to act as a USB interface, which Mortrix can’t do (again, hoping this can be added via the Ethernet port or via an expansion module.

    I’m willing to entertain posting if the current lack thereof is putting off potential buyers. The Hiscox case should offer good protection in transit. I could probably get a bicycle box from a reasonably local shop to package it in. I would leave it up to the buyer to sort the courier though. (I used this arrangement successfully for the last bass I sold recently.)

    Analog Cases do a Reface case which is smaller than the Yamaha one, though doesn’t have the dedicated compartment for the power supply. Still fits though.

    It’s all detailed in the MIDI Implementation section of the user manual and in the section on Flexi Controllers. You’ll need something like Panda’s 4Control, Mortrix, Morningstar or other controller. Then on the controller, you need to have the pedal send out whatever CC you like/need. There are standard mappings for stuff like filter cutoff, LFO depth etc. Most of my presets use CC1 as a source for morphing/variations.

    What kind of keybed is being used in this? And what kind of triggering mechanism? Is it like the Pratt-Reed ones on the original or more like modern ones like Fatar?

    I’m guessing the knobs have been upgraded. They look much better than the white plastic ones that were on the one I had. Or are these stock now? Either way, looks fantastic.

    That's odd, it should be possible. I do all my basschatting on (ios) mobile. Just click on the three dots at the top right of the first post and hit "edit". If it's not working, it'll need flagging as a bug to admin.

    Can attest to the neck thing. I had one of these (which popped on Bass Bros recently). I used the neck profile as the basis for my Shuker build too.

    Keyboard arpeggiators do indeed work like that; you hold down multiple notes together and the arpeggiator plays each of the held notes in turn according to the selected pattern mode (up/down/up-down/down-up/as-played/random, etc). If you could send me some links of the type you mentioned, that would be helpful. Yep, it might have been more sensible to get even more memory/better processor from the outset. There are a few things in the implementation which were a bit puzzling. A lot of this stuff was done without any discussion with me, so when the first beta firmware came my way, I had to push hard to get some things changed which I thought, if left, would have made the user experience pretty unwieldy. Trust me, I’m very mindful of the end users in my approach. I disagree. Having inbuilt effects is very useful as they often function as an integral part of the sound design. Having an easy way to turn them on and off would be welcome though for when users want to use external effects. (The last in the chain can be disabled on the panel, but from the outset I’d asked for CCs to disable all and individual internal effects.) Stereo effects would have been better and for V4 I did ask if the output could be made stereo but they went with CV instead. For the most part it has been. I don’t use sequencers or arpeggiators at all but can agree that it would be a welcome feature for some users if it can be sensibly implemented.

    Do you rather mean a sequencer? How would you propose to feed an arpeggiator multiple notes? I think it quite unlikely as space is getting tight again in the first app with all the new stuff we added and space needs to be kept for the tracking improvements that are in progress. You can easily arpeggiate and sequence the FI via MIDI as is. Also, you’ll soon be able to use the FI to play MIDI synths that have their own sequencers and arpeggiators. Depending on how the latter work, it might be possible to stack the arpeggiator using single note input, depending on how the synth treats new notes while hold is on. There’s more space in app B as it does not have the pitch tracking algorithm code as it’s MIDI only. Here it would be possible to add my paraphonic idea. Perhaps there might also be space for an arpeggiator, but would be triggered via MIDI only.
