1. Gutted to find, when I can finally (almost) afford to custom order a Stingray Slo Special, that they've discontinued one of the very best finishes. Grr!
2. Anyone played or got one of these? Are they good? I'd really like to get my hands on one. Please let me know if anyone spots one in a UK shop.
3. Wasn't me, Karl, but perhaps it came up in conversation because I'd posted that I was looking for Precision basses with Jazz necks. Ironically I just bought a California series this weekend on eBay. Update: got it back last weekend from being properly set up and checked over by Jon Shuker and it's playing great! The new flats I had it set up with are now just starting to sound broken in. These are great basses, if only I'd managed to find an Olympic white one… Actually, I'm sure it'll look better if I replace the anodised gold guard with a black plastic one, and it'll improve my health (those anodised guards are hell on your fingernails).
4. That, sir, is beautiful. I'm incredibly tempted; I have a sterling in natural with rosewood but always loved honeyburst and would love to have the mutes. Where are you located?
5.
These new Fenders don't have massive necks Price drop to £750 for a quick sale
I know, I've tried one, but sadly the nut width is still too wide for me.
6. Damn my small hands! Shame I can't tempt you to put the neck from the Jazz you're selling on this; I'd totally buy it then. Best of luck with the sale.
7. No problem, I just prefer dealing in person wherever possible; it's good to be able to try stuff out in person.
8. Wish you were in the UK as I'd be really interested in this.
9. Bit out of my way to just drop by, unfortunately. Shame; I love my Sterling, due to the neck and string spacing so am sure this would float my boat in that department too.
Edinburgh, near the Royal Commonwealth Pool.
10. I just sold my Sadowsky HPJ to Jan. This involved my travelling with the bass to the Netherlands and his travelling from Belgium to collect it. Communication was great throughout the transaction, payment was made in advance, as agreed and Jan turned up when he said he would. He was even kind enough to bring me his '90s Stingray for me to try. On top of that he's a really nice guy. I wouldn't hesitate to trade with him in the future. Heartily recommended.
11. Not wishing to create more GAS, but have you checked out the new Fender '74 reissue Jazz? Very tasty.
12. This has now been sold and paid for; it's just awaiting its new owner to collect it.
13. Not that I'm trying to do myself out of a sale but I've seen one on talkbass that is 3.88kg.
14. Tbh, I think you'd be hard pushed to get a metro under 4kg. They tend to be a bit heavier than their USA counterparts.
