Boohoo, I had to take the Minitaur back today as the pitch CV input wasn’t working properly. I’d installed the latest firmware (2.2.1) and plugging an expression pedal into the pitch CV input resulted in it spitting out the highest C the unit produces but nothing in between. The assistant and I spent ages messing about with various settings. We installed a previous version of the firmware and ran the calibration routine and got it working. So we installed the latest firmware and ran the routine again only it didn’t work. So we rolled back to the previous firmware again and ran the routine; this also now didn’t work. I ended up getting a refund and planned to come back when they get another in. Later on in the day as they were closing I asked when they’d likely get another in. He looked on the system and found that they’d actually got another in stock! So we tried that one and it had the same problem! I’ve asked him to contact Moog to report it as I think it’ll carry more weight coming from them and their distributor. So, back to square one. @tonyxtiger, does your pitch CV input work OK? @andybassdoyle, did yours?

I’ve ended up sending the G2M back today. It’s going to have to be some kind of MIDI bass instead.

There are bright and dark flats. It is an option to play them with a pick too. 😀

What? I use flats and there’s no lack of dirt. There’s a bit less extreme top-end sizzle.

E is approximately 24ms F# is approximately 21.6ms low B is approximately 32ms They are the same no matter which string they are played on. As mentioned, it’s the overtones on open strings which confuse the circuit.

No, it’s due to the period of the waveform being longer so it takes the hardware longer to read the note.

To be fair, I’ve never tried the BOD on a five-string bass, it might go lower. It glitches on low E but that might simply be because it’s an open string (it glitches on all open strings to a certain degree).

I was a little underwhelmed by the MS demo to be honest. I would like to see a video with faster lines to demonstrate the purported superior tracking. The last sound is one that it possible on the Subterranea. I really need to try one. Isn’t Juno Records in London? Cameron and Bas, you could check one out there.

I picked up a Sonuus G2M V3 to use with my bass guitar though the latency is still pretty off-putting. I’m running the Minitaur from a controller keyboard at present (until I can afford an industrial Radio MIDI bass).

In each VCO there are 4 sliders in the “amplitude” section - saw, square, triangle and volume. I presume the sliders are for the volume of each waveform so what is the “volume” slider for? Is it like a master volume for that VCO after one has select the proportion of each waveform one wants to hear? That is, regardless of the mix of waveform sliders in any given oscillator, will that oscillator only make a sound if the “volume” slider in the “amplitude” section is above zero? Or is it the volume of the dry bass signal? It looks like I might have difficulty recreating some of these as each oscillator has 3 waveforms. The Minitaur only has 2 oscillators and only one waveform per oscillator can be used at once.

Any Future Impact users on here? Would one of you kindly be able to send me a list or an editor screenshot of the parameter settings (oscillator types and volumes, envelope shapes, filter cutoff, resonance, etc) for the following Future Impact presets?
