Indeed it is a lovely bass and I'm mulling it over as I want to check out another bass before deciding. (Obviously if someone else takes it before then, that's my bad luck; I don't want to hold up the seller's sale.)
The active circuit on this bass is very natural sounding. At one point I hadn't realised it was engaged.
The seller is also a really great and friendly guy and anyone interested should have no hesitation in buying from him.
Have a free bump.
I've just re-read regarding the pickups (I was looking for CS).
Is this the older "Blizzard Pearl" finish perhaps? I seem to remember that those had a kind of sparkly white-ish colour.
What year is this? Does it have custom shop pickups? Where are you based? Also, it looks like Oly White rather than metallic silver, so which is correct, pictures or description?
I bought a Cog T-16 from Lee a few days ago and it arrived today. Flawless and straightforward transaction with excellent communication throughout. Many thanks!
Rick, I'm wondering if there's been a problem with the system. I know that someone sent me a message yesterday which failed to arrive.
Did you happen to reply to my pm?
I bought an MXR distortion pedal from Brian and the transaction couldn't have been smoother. Prompt and friendly communication. The pedal was with me in under 24 hours and exactly as described. Many thanks.
The PJ arrangement on a P bass is great. It gives the normal P tone when soloing the P pickup. Soloing the bridge pickup gives the sound of a soloed Jazz bridge pickup. What it won't give you is the sound of a Jazz with both pickups on full. The P+J pickups together give a very different sound (and one that I'm not fond of).
The only thing I like both pickups on a jazz on full for is for slapping; otherwise I prefer weight the pickup balance to one or the other of the pickups.
You could get Jon Shuker to put a new fretless board on an existing neck for £150. I'm considering doing this on a fretted jazz I just bought.
Alternatively he builds necks to your specification from £250.
