  1. Holy cow, I’ve done it now… Moogerfooger lowpass filter and 12-stage phaser! I’m now officially on a self-imposed buying ban! Kind of wishing I’d bought yours now, @roman_sub as I could’ve saved about £160!
  2. Guys, you need to add the Data Corrupter by EarthQuaker Devices to the list. I got some insane sounds out of it when testing one today. It'd take a while to learn everything it can do and took me a bit to get more controlled sounds out of it. I wish I’d had time to run it into a filter. @CameronJ, have you tried one of these?
  3. Went for the Avant Garde in the end (dual envelope follower) as I can use the CV in for crazy LFO if needed. Thanks for your opinion on the Sonuus.
  4. There's a postmodern for sale here on basschat right now!
  5. How was it in terms of tracking, repeated notes, fast changes between notes and translating volume/velocity?
  6. This is worth throwing into the mix: Sonuus i2M musicport MIDI Converter & Hi-Z USB Audio Interface https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005PM4UK4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_KsyiAbJZZ4ES1 Basically you could then hook up to any MIDI-enabled synth and play it with your bass.
  7. I’d say I’d fight you for it but you’d whup my donkey! (OK the site’s autocorrect/censorship is freaking me out!)
  8. I do. My point is that Vulfpeck don’t release CDs now (though occasionally they release vinyl).
  9. I had a fender Precision Bass Special California Series which was passive, US-made (painted in Mexico to get around chemical laws), PJ pickups, P body, J neck and it was really good. They were only made for a couple of years and are well worth seeking out.
  10. Yep, from the interviews he says it’s an old set and he probably has the tone rolled off a fair bit. It was This that led me to try rotosounds for the first time (I’ve been playing 23 years) and they are amazing! Turns out Jack used them too. I’ve never really been into roundwounds as I usually find them too bright and clanky. Even though these are very bright they sound so damn strong. Mine are starting to darken now after a month’s playing in and they sound fantastic on my Jazz.
  11. Except it’s mostly online only. (I still haven’t embraced non-physical but I might be forced to now.)
  12. An alternative is the 2016 American standard PJ from the “magnificent seven” line. Precision body, Jazz-width neck, CS PJ pickups, all passive. I managed to score one on eBay now the UK but mostly they were in the USA. Give the new American Professional Precision a try though. I usually can’t play Precision necks but these were really comfortable, to the point where I’d consider selling my PJ to buy a straight P.
  13. I wonder if the Mothership 2 does this like its predecessor:
  14. @Al Krow, talk to @CameronJ; he has had an Aftershock for a while now. It was his that I tried when we met up in London.
  15. Payment sent for Aftershock.
  16. I bagged an as-new Sentry on eBay. Thanks for the tip, @CameronJ!
  17. The comparison should only be made between the 95 when the upper blue light is on and the green light is off (that is when it is in 90 block mode).
  18. These sound really great. Must try one sometime.
  19. I bought that one. Bump for a fun and versatile pedal.
  20. I’d read conflicting statements. Says true bypass in my user manuals (and that is clearly absent from the 95 user manual and that of the EVH model). Though I’ve read that there are different things meant by “true bypass” and “true hardwire bypass”. Maybe I should’ve gone for the 95. The script/block difference is definitely noticeable to me. (It’s the same as turning the resonance Q/knob up on other filters). It makes more difference to me in the extreme slow and fast sweeps. The block pedal sounds fantastic in the low speeds but messy in the fast (it also has a noticeably faster top speed than the script pedal). The script sounds really good at faster speeds as the peaks are more subtle. It’s not as dramatic at lower speeds as the block but is still a great sound.
  21. ...and they all keep ending up at @Sibob‘s house!
  22. I’ve had a reply from Nathan Navarro of Source Audio: Apparently the LED not always moving on is normal. The locking up thing is a bug and one which he was able to replicate on their gear so he’s passed it to the engineers and hopefully there’ll be a bug fix. It basically happens if you cycle quickly through the “option” button. @CameronJ, @GisserD, @Al Krow, @BNB71
  23. This gives a run through of the different sounds available via the switches and it seems to have a slow enough sweep.
  24. Also, there was someone in the marketplace looking to buy a Phase 90 (unless it was you).
  25. As far as I could tell from reading up on it and listening to demos, the 95 does both the script and block versions (lower and higher resonance respectively) of both the (4-stage) 90 and the (2-stage) 45. The only reason I didn’t go for it was that the 95 is not true bypass. (I bought both a block and script 90 instead, and it’s cool running them in series.)
