  1. Works fine. Bending is handled by detecting the change in string tension at the bridge. Slapping is just another trigger detection at the bridge. There are videos on YouTube (also shared on the IR thread in the “basses” section showing it slapped).
  2. No. It’s a wired fret technology so the pitch is already determined by the string touching the fret and making a connection (or lack thereof for open strings) before the string has even been struck. Consequently the latency is only as much as it takes the piezo saddles to detect string movement above the set threshold, which is consistently 5-8ms anywhere on the instrument.
  3. They have direct competition from ROR guitars with their expressiv MIDIbass.
  4. Sorry to hear that. Did you ask IR directly for a refund first?
  5. @Damonjames and @Faithless have wanted ads up for one.
  6. Best bass and colour/fretboard combination and YOB; pretty tempting.
  7. Probably posted this before but who cares when it’s this funky? https://youtu.be/mZmJ3Q7SfHE?si=i7_b5GtGfYdq1fdY
  8. Ooh, another McCoy Tyner fan. Thanks for reminding me that there’s one of his big band records I still don’t have a copy of (I have this one though).
  9. @Lukasz Chyla bought my Jazz bass yesterday. Payment and collection arrangements were all made quickly and smoothly, with clear and polite communication. I hope the bass serves you well. Many thanks!
  10. A few weeks’ use on these. They are cut for a string-through Fender with at least two full winds round each post. Price includes delivery. £12.50 (can’t put 50p in title).
  11. Final reduction to £1099. Am taking a not insignificant hit on this at this price. I’f it doesn’t sell at this price, I’ll be keeping it.
  12. I strongly recommend checking this guy’s channel out; the diff he builds is amazing.
  13. Buy a piano instead. 😬
  14. Works out at about £200 with import charges at the current introductory price.
  15. Has anyone on here ordered/received one of these yet? It’s getting nice positive feedback from users so far.
  16. I’ve bought and sold about twenty basses in my 30 years of playing; the only one I regret selling (and not being in a position to buy back when it was offered to me) was this one: an early 2000s Musicman Sterling which I imported from the USA in 2007 and sold in 2018 when I needed money to move house. If anyone knows of its current whereabouts, please let me know.
  17. The x-over means the dry signal knob brings in a low-pass-filtered dry signal instead of a full range one. It basically brings on only the lower frequencies from your dry bass sound, which is often a better way to blend in with the wet (distorted) signal. To hear what it does, dial out the wet signal entirely and flip the toggle between the two positions.
  18. Was supposed to be seeing Nik West next weekend but it’s been cancelled. Might go and see Scary Pockets now though so not a bad outcome.
