Yep, these are great, even stock. I have a white/rosewood and a Miami blue. I’m honestly tempted to get another couple to cover all the string type/neck wood combinations. 😆

That 63 is lovely. Another I got to play when Ian bought a bass from me.

I got some amazing distortion and oscillation going on in a Peavey Cirrus BXP when the battery was dying. I wish I could have replicated it as it added a very humorous touch to one piece during a band rehearsal.

Feel is the only detectable difference in this one. More precisely, it’s the way the envelope decay time changes when playing harder and softer. There’s very little in it though and this digital one is plenty responsive. Has a good knobby interface too so not lacking at all for hands-on panel control.

For me, much of my setup was centred around synth sounds, but since getting my keys chops to a reasonable standard now I feel I’ll do all that stuff on keys. (The exception is the FI as it is a synth and I’m still heavily involved in its development.) Hence I’ve shifted a bunch of stuff that I was using to do synth sounds. I definitely enjoy the process of trying stuff out but seem to have moved onto bigger toys with synths. Still, I’m trying to look at what I’m using to make music versus what I’m just using to muck around with. I’m really trying to pare down to what I’m most likely to use regularly and for bass, aside from the FI, that’s likely to be envelope filter, phaser, octaver and a preamp. (The delay and reverb stuff is good in conjunction with the synths. I still need to get my head around compression.) Oh, and regarding analogue envelope filter, wait until you get your hands on the thing I cannot name yet, it may well change your mind. It really is that good.

At the moment the list is: Panda Audio Future Impact I and V4 Source Audio C4 Source Audio Lunar Source Audio Spectrum Source Audio Collider Source Audio Ventris Source Audio Atlas Source Audio Nemesis ADT Source Audio Bass ZIO MXR Bass Envelope Filter Singular Sound Beat Buddy TC Electronic June 60 Chorus Broughton Audio Fliptop MXR Phase 95 Plus something I can’t disclose yet. I’m selling the June 60 chorus. I’m fairly sure I’ll get another analogue octaver though. The one in the C4/Spectrum is very good but isn’t quite the same.

Well, I did end up selling my analogue octavers (might regret that). Also let my MuTron Microtron go because I found a digital pedal that is almost indistinguishable. Down to 17 now, only 5 are analogue.

Panda will be at Superbooth next week. https://www.superbooth.com/en/ They’ve asked me along but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to go. I was supposed to have my next surgery yesterday, which then got postponed until Monday and I’d be in no fit state. Got a call yesterday that it’s now not happening on Monday and won’t find out until then when it’s now going to take place.

The Supafunk? Or is this a different one?

Nope, other way around: MuTron first, ******** second. I think I made that recording early on. I got them even closer after playing with some more settings.

Check out the EMEO. They have a clarinet model in development too last I heard from them. https://www.emeomusic.com

Yep, lots of presets on this and good amount of knobs and switches.

I’m pretty sure this one will sell itself. I can’t give any hints as to the company. What I can say is that even though I was involved in the very early development discussions for this pedal and a couple of my ideas were included, I didn’t really think this pedal was going to be my thing at all. I was very wrong! It’s lots of fun. I’ve always thought that digital filters can get close to analogue but never quite convinced me enough to replace them. This has changed my mind. Took me a bit of work to dial this sound exactly but was worth the effort.

It’s something I’m beta testing at the moment and is digital. Can’t spill the beans yet. Will reveal when permitted.

Tight Fit - Chaka Khan.

I never thought I’d do this but I sold my MuTron Microtron IV at the weekend as I got so close with another pedal; can you tell which is which? Audio-822.mp3
