  1. If you edit the title to include “SOLD” it will automatically lock the thread.
  2. Just completed a second transaction with Ian. This time he came to me to buy an EBMM Sterling off me, so it was nice to put a face to the name. We spent an enjoyable couple of hours talking and playing. He very kindly let me have a try of his ‘63 P and Old Smoothie while he was here (both lovely) and I showed him around the Future Impact. No hesitation in recommending or trading again; a fine example of why I love Basschat. Many thanks, Ian, I hope the bass serves you well.
  3. Are you perhaps using a charger cable instead of a data cable?
  4. Was the octave 2 working at some point? I ask because a common modification is to disable the octave 2 in order to give a volume boost to the octave 1. It’s done by desoldering a resistor inside. Wonder if this has been done by just desoldering one side so as to leave it hanging (so it doesn’t get lost) and perhaps it was touching the contact intermittently. Might be worth taking the back off and having a look.
  5. In case anyone missed it, two-way USB communication has now been added to Ventris, Nemesis, Collider and Spectrum. You’ll need to download the latest desktop editor to install the new firmware that supports this new feature on the pedals.
  6. Regarding point 1, is your phone app on the latest version too? If both phone and C4 are on the latest version and you’re still having problems connecting, email source audio support. During beta testing I did see an issue where the connection graphic wasn’t showing when plugging in until I’d recalled a preset, even though the connection was definitely working.
  7. I’d venture that 1 and 3 were Ps. Where are the answers?
  8. Of the two, the OFD is newer. It’s superseded by the Aftershock (though still pretty cool if you want to avoid using a PC or mobile app to make deeper edits).
  9. No supplied PSU. It takes a standard 9V centre negative supply of 100mA. All FIs are the same internally. Difference between FI I and FI v3 is just a (free) software update and the different decal. Do a search of the classifieds to see what the last few have sold for.
  10. Yes, he did mention them, along with a few other choices. I’ve not heard them so went with something I had heard.
  11. He says he can get the pickup from Bass Direct as they have it in stock, so should be OK. I’m getting Nordstrand PJs in my MIDIbass though.
  12. Went over on Wednesday to take another colour sample for the paint mixing as I’d changed my mind on the exact colour. Now got tuner holes in the neck too. Should get to check out the mixed paint in the next couple of weeks and then it’ll be sprayed. Looks like Fralin is experiencing long delays on getting pickups made and sent so Jon will source them elsewhere (BD).
  13. Mine is Octave (currently MXR VBO) into a Zvex Mastotron and then those in the loop of the Source Audio Spectrum. Have used other (analogue) filters such as Chromatron, Enigma but the Spectrum gives the best control over envelope shape and has most of the relevant controls accessible from the panel.
  14. Hi Anth, indeed you did; you seem to have amassed quite an impressive collection since then. I’m not too bad, thanks. I hope you’re well too. I’d be happy to bring this one north and combine with a visit to my gran again, should your circumstances change.
  15. Could be yours by the end of the weekend - could have it driven right past Stroud on the way to Bath. 😉
  16. Original and unmodified as far as I can tell. Non-original case, with damage as stated in the original post.
  17. An amazing 2-, 4- and 6-stage analog phaser that also does tremolo and boost and a whole host of other cool stuff via the dip switches. MIDI capable with 122 onboard presets. First two are accessible directly using the toggle switch. The centre position is a “live panel” mode where the settings correspond to the actual knob and switch positions. In outstanding condition. Comes with all the original box, bag, sticker and paperwork. These are discontinued and difficult to get hold of now. I’m not really taking advantage of all the MIDI options and am probably better off with a simpler 4/6-stage phaser. Actual postage costs to be added (Special Delivery fully insured). I’ll let one of the best demoers take you through this (though he mistakenly refers to the “8-stage” setting, but it’s actually only 6):
  18. Source Audio is about to launch an adapter that obliviates the need for the Hub.
  19. Just seen your location. I can get this taken down to Bath (or somewhere between Sheffield and there) if that helps.
  20. Annoying tax bill and other gear purchase plans mean that this probably needs to go. Only had it a few weeks so haven’t had so much time to get attached to it. Collection in Sheffield preferred though potentially it could be handed over at a meet-up or delivered in person, depending on location. Comes with a (non-original) case which has a bit of structural damage on one side so I wouldn’t want to ship it in it really. Asking what I paid for it. No more, no less.
