  1. Contemplating trading this in the next two weeks as trade-in prices have gone up since I last looked. I have lowered the price even further here though.
  2. Red shall be the colour. There was a blue version which two of us really liked but an executive decision was taken that it was to be red for this. (I also pointed out that the red was a nice tip of the hat to the Deep Impact.)
  3. The sides are raised to avoid this. You could also add a large button topper.
  4. @knicknack what strings/gauge were you using on the P bass in your comparison video?
  5. Should be getting this for beta testing next week!
  6. I don’t really need more than one exemplar of this pedal (I had 3) and have some other pedal outgoings I could do with recouping so offering this. This one is currently on loan to @krispn and he will post it out straight to whoever buys it. Though it’s billed as a “lofi elements” pedal, it excels in plenty of “normal” stuff too: 24db/octave Moog-style ladder filter with self-mod feature; Chorus; Flange; Delay; Reverb; Drive/Distortion; EQ; Compression; Highpass and lowpass filtering (non resonant); Tape saturation. And the other far-out stuff: Glitch; Sample rate reduction; Bit crush; Ring modulator; Vinyl clicks/surface noise; 50/60Hz hum; Bad cable noise; Dropout signal failure. The envelope and LFO can be directed at multiple destinations simultaneously with differing individual depths. As others have attested to, it’s worth the price for the filter alone. Also, this is a new format for SA which gives access to the first 16 presets directly on the panel and a lot more top-panel controls for parameters than any of their previous pedals. This means you can get an extraordinary variety of sounds out of it without ever having to hook it up to the mobile app or desktop editor. However, for those of you who want to go deeper, there’s loads under the hood of you do hook it up. It’s in excellent condition with box. This one doesn’t have a power supply or a USB cable included, but if you need either, I may be able to rustle up a spare one. More pictures available upon request. Price includes free UK postage via Royal Mail Special Delivery (fully tracked and insured). I posted some clips in this thread a while ago: https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/497202-new-source-audio-pedal-artifakt-lo-fi-elements/#findComment-5272891
  7. It will be available as a fully-assembled unit alongside the standard sized one. (I’m hopeful that further down the line, there’ll be a mini-housing-only option for people who already own the standard version; I’ve obviously suggested this.) I do know when it’s predicted to be available but I’m not at liberty to say. It is relatively soon though.
  8. A used V4 on TB if anyone’s looking for one: https://www.talkbass.com/classifieds/3-leaf-broughton-iron-ether-sushi-box-and-future-impact-v4vpurge.1665606/
  9. You could absolutely do this with the BP too by setting the drive lower. I just happen to like that setting. If I put a compressor in front of it I can use that to get the BP to only breakup when digging in really hard, effectively giving me two sounds at the push of a button.
  10. I’d give @knicknack’s very helpful comparison video a(nother) watch if you’re unsure. At the moment, I’m running the SV pretty clean, with maybe just a hint of breakup at the highest dynamic levels. The Black Panel I’m running with a similar knob position on the drive but that comes out sounding much dirtier with a really high response to dynamics: playing lightly makes it almost clean and increasing dynamic level pushes the dirtiness up. I’ve dialled these in for my (rosewood) P bass with Labella flats; the (maple) P with rounds probably requires a totally different bunch of settings. FWIW I’m not going for heavy RATM type dirty tones, more funk/soul stuff.
  11. Worth contacting them via the web form to say so.
  12. It’s been a long while since I’ve posted a board shot. Been through a lot of chopping and changing and, as you can see, have been on a preamp exploration of late. At some point I need to re-integrate my Morningstar loop switcher and MIDI controller. The chaotic, unfinished and disconnected nature of this is pretty much a reflection of the state of my brain at the moment. Also looks like I need some more cables and a power supply expansion.
  13. I’ve only been exploring them for a few months. This Grand Slampegg is really nice. Really like the Shift Line Olympic and the Origin BassRig 64 Black Panel too. It’s got out of hand! (And that’s not including the 8 other (soon to be 9) Source Audio pedals.)
  14. Really need to stop buying preamps now!
  15. @charlietuna raves about the FPT and it sounds like you don’t even necessarily need to put a tube after it for it to sound great (though presumably your need for it might be for the DI more than anything).
  16. Most recognisable uses of adjustable pulse width are stuff like clavinet sounds and the bass sound from “Ain’t Nobody”, which uses the 25% duty cycle setting.
  17. If you’re just getting started, I’d pick up a used FI or C4 first. If you’re not fussed about getting the newest FI4, you can pick up the still excellent previous version for about £150 now.
  18. I’d definitely like to hear the raw oscillators to hear how much aliasing there is higher up. Still hoping that one day a company will use FPGA oscillators in a pedal (the Novation Summit and UDO synths have these and they are ultra-high resolution and have zero aliasing). Shame there’s no PWM on the Enzo X but perhaps they could add that in a firmware update. Huge oversight in a synth pedal of this nature.
  19. I can only go off the few videos I’ve watched. Not had time to read the manual. The effects in the Meris will likely be better and are stereo. FI4 is still superior as far as oscillator options is concerned. Can’t comment on Enzo X’s tracking as I’ve not played it but guess it won’t be using the FI4’s fast tracking implementation so will be a bit slower. Arpeggiation is a plus (if, unlike me, you’re into that sort of thing). Enzo’s filters were pretty nice as I recall from playing the original version. Don’t think it’s something I’ll buy but I’d certainly like to try it out.
  20. And collected.
  21. Time stamps are correct. I paid and it immediately changed to “paid - will be posted…” and got email confirmation, then three hours later it reverted. I suspect someone messed up somewhere.
