    I disagree. I had pretty much the full spec and had gone in and reserved two chunks of wood (which ordinarily he’d only do after a deposit has been paid); I’d already said I wanted to pay him a deposit last year but he asked me to wait until the spec was finalised.

    Need to check with the powers that be: I had started the order process for a Shuker build with Jon last year and had all the specs down except for the neck depth; I had even been in and chosen the neck and fingerboard wood blanks. I finally paid the deposit last night so my question is, is that exempt? (If it helps, I sold a bass last week, the funds from which I have used as the deposit.) If not, then I guess I’m out in a fairly spectacular manner.

    Thanks for the response, folks. It’s less of a pressing concern now as I’ve submitted my build specs based on Stingray SLO neck dimensions. I’d still like to try some Sandbergs at some point soon though.

    @iamtheelvymake sure you get an expression pedal hooked up as soon as you can for even more fun - most of the sounds I programmed for it have morphing and other cool stuff when using expression.

    If yours is a used one, then the patches may be completely different anyway as they are fully interchangeable. Hooking up to the editor will tell you what's on there.

    Thank you! I wonder how consistent they are piece to piece; my Sterling was the nicest neck I’ve played (though perhaps equal to my current Lakland).

    Thanks! That's cool. I was leaning towards 21.5mm-23.5mm for my build so am starting to feel like that's a good choice. Any USA Sterling players who could supply those measurements?

    Not quite a Sterling profile. The nut width is the same (1.5”) but the carve is a bit different. They’re close though. Had both side by side years ago.

    Is there anyone who owns one of these 4-string basses (the USA Sterling or Stingray SLO Special) with access to callipers who could measure the neck depth at the 1st and 12th fret for me. I’d be most grateful as EBMM don’t seem to be replying. @hiram.k.hackenbacker?

    Looks like it could be 4.3kg.

    I’ll measure it later on. I’m guessing around 4kg based on the weight of my other basses.
