@GisserD’s rehousing is fully reversible with no mods necessary so has no effect on resale value. I think the large box was a nod to the DI and partly conscious in order to have the foot switches far enough from the rotary encoder. I love the original box, reminds me of a retro arcade game housing.

Sounds like user error. The IN here is into the computer so of course needs to be plugged into the OUT port of the external device. Guess if you have an FI and it doesn’t work with it, you could return under distance selling rules.

It could definitely be smaller but it is what it is. There’s a solution out there if it really bothers you. For me, it’s an essential pedal so I just plan around it. Life’s too short.

Mount Rushmore (Top 4) Bass pedals of all time?
Quatschmacher replied to BadHands's topic in Effects
It’s not really bass specific (but I suppose neither are the others). Still debating, though it’s certainly a strong candidate. -
Yes, he invented it and it was released by Akai. There are obviously things which have been carried over, such as the form factor and hardware controls. That’s a pipe dream at this point. If you really want to hasten any potential development process then buying what’s currently available is the best way to support the company so that there’s capital to invest in future products. OK. We can always discuss the above on the FI thread.

Thanks. Sometimes these things take time. Remember Panda is literally Andras doing firmware and Zsolt doing the editor and both do lots of other work. On the plus side, you can now buy another used FI for way less than you sold your other ones.

OK, I think I need one of these after trying one earlier this week.

Mount Rushmore (Top 4) Bass pedals of all time?

MuTron III, OC-2 (though I’m tempted to say Octabvre II), Future Impact; I don’t have a fourth yet. -
Think I paid £35 for mine but got a new one for a friend for £20-25. Roland UM-One MK2. But read the section of the FI manual on compatible interfaces for other options known to work.

I recently arranged a trade deal with Walshy with a bass of mine plus cash for a bass of his. Communication was prompt, friendly and detailed and the handover was done smoothly via his trusted delivery man. Unfortunately, there was a small issue with the bass when it arrived that had got missed before it went out. I contacted Paul asking if we could therefore reverse the trade and, to his credit, he was very apologetic and organised the return quickly without quibble. My bass and refund were back with me the day after contacting him. I think the mark of a good seller is not just how they carry out their normal business, but how they act when something doesn’t quite go to plan. In this instance, Walshy has acted with honesty and integrity and has done his utmost to rectify the situation as quickly and smoothly as possible. Even though we didn’t end up trading this time, I’d be happy to deal with Paul again in future based upon this experience. Many thanks.

Yes, but they’re not going to break the bank. On the plus side, you get full-size MIDI ports. Also, audio interfaces with MIDI ports and controllers such as those by Morningstar will also work for everything except a firmware update. V3.60 is likely the last firmware update (barring any bugs that might be find that need fixing).

Skip the Deep Impact (massively overpriced and pretty limited) and get the Future Impact instead (less than half the price, does the original DI sounds 1:1 and then does tonnes more).

I had the pleasure of meeting Nick last night at his home to buy a Fender American Pro II Precision from him after he kindly responded to my wanted ad. Communication throughout was excellent. He was very accommodating in answering my questions about the bass before I turned up, providing many high-quality images and, at my request, a recording. He then held the bass for me for a couple of weeks until I was able to organise a convenient day to come and collect it. The bass itself is lovely and just as described; I recognised in him that feeling of regret of letting it go (as I too have experienced on a couple of occasions when selling my basses). Nick allowed me plenty of time to check out the bass and test through his setup. We also had time to play around with some effects. I brought something for him to try and he kindly let me try out a bass of his and an effects box that I’ve been keen to try. It was really nice to chat about music and to meet a thoroughly lovely fellow Basschatter. I hope to be able to have the opportunity to meet him again in the not-too-distant future. Highly recommended. Many thanks.

Moog minitaur urgent help please .. update
Quatschmacher replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in Other Instruments
If going into the external input, you’ll need to turn up the input dial (which I think is a secondary function on one of the knobs, if not using the editor). If you’re trying to trigger from other devices, you’ll need to make sure they’re on the same MIDI channel. -
And that order is my preference in descending order.

Using MIDI THRU, it will pass anything sent to the MIDI IN to the MIDI OUT (except SysEx data and CC6). However, what I suspect you are asking is whether you can play your bass via the FI’s audio input and have it send out MIDI note messages; this is not possible.
-
Yes; I have said in a few places that there’s definitely room for both pedals as there’s enough stuff that each does that the other can’t. I don’t use the parallel processors loads but there are definitely cool things you can do with them. This example is quite a simple one as it’s just creating a duplicate of the first processor, but with subtle offsets. The result is a nice thickening. You can also run that in stereo using the dual outputs. (That reminds me, now I have two FIs, I should try doing a similar thing with those.)

Another of my patches. I haven’t got around to doing a proper Tom Sawyer intro for the FI. It’s tricky as it was done on a polysynth with the voices set to unison. A lot of the character comes from the tuning and filter cutoff variances between those voices. This isn’t really possible on the FI as it goes through a single lowpass filter. (It could maybe be fudged by using the parallel bandpass filter but that would carve out too much bottom end.) I’ve done some really good C4 ones as there are parallel processors in there.

That’s actually from an earlier album, but quite right, it’s excellent. Tim Garland is a fantastic musician. There’s a great full live set of the Feelings album here:
