1.
$100, really?! Bass players are mugs
Right on, brother.
 2.
The new ones are crap. The old ones, when they were painstakingly smelted by the hands of wizened craftsmen who only used steel unearthed by their own bare hands, sustained longer, had purer tone and made you more attractive to the opposite sex.
.....you mean like those second hand ones that are on Ebay for very reasonable prices?
 3.
Even the packet looks cool! I'm sure the bbot nazis will be along soon to tell us they have been playing for 40 years without any problems and on the same set of flats too
........but think of the improvements in sustain if you had 5!
 4. .....forgot the decimal point, didn't I. £23.00 inc.
 5. Hey all, I found this floating like something unflushed in the bottom of my parts draw. It's a Baddass II with two badly filed saddles (E and G) and two good'uns. Apart from that, it's in excellent condition. It's good for spares (which are bloody hard to find) so I'll sell it on for £2300 inc post and all proceeds go to Basschat. 6. Looks like the bi-annual delivery from Mr Quan is in..... http://www.allparts.com/Chrome-Leo-Quan-Ba...bb-0335-010.htm Now remember, boys and girls, you can only have 5 each
 7.
My Warmoth was lovely, faultless quality and stunning to look at. As mentiones, if you want Jazz width necks you have to specify, my Jazz had a thicker neck than i expected (still a breeze to play) and it was a common complaint. All sorted now though as they offer J spec necks. Also the steel rods can add a bit of weight to the neck. I had a Walnut body so it didn't affect balance but is you spec light ash or something then it might be an issue. One thing is for sure - you get stunning quality parts at what i consider to be a good price. Not the cheapest option but the choice is amazing.
I've got a bog standard Warmoth Jazz and it's bloody brilliant.
 8.
... really pleased to hear that, Trev ! Great to meet up with you in-person and hope the family enjoyed the day-out in Howarth. Sorry to hear about the minor nut problem - I'm not much a slapper/popper, so hadn't experienced that, but I'm sure Jon will sort it. Interesting reflection(s) on the strings (.. and the bass, overall).
......yeah, I think I've actually had my first duff e-string from DR. I tried the same hi-beam set on my jazz and again, it sounded.....off. That's a first for DR (unlike Ernie Ball. At one point every other pack I was buying had a bum string).
 9. I sat and chatted with David in a hotel cark park (whilst taking delivery of an ACG) in Haworth and thouroughly enjoyed myself. The man knows his basses ;-) Lovely chap.
 10.
I really hope you like it!
I do. I'm just working through it at the moment. Soundwise, we're in Active Jazz territory with potential Warwick leanings. I thought the neck pup postion would make it tight for slapping, but no. It's fine. Slaps like a demon. It needs the nut swapping out 'cos the G's bottoming out on the first fret when popping, and it's one of the few basses I've had that doesn't like DR's. I swear by DR Hi-beams and lo-riders, but this fella sings with Dean Markley Blue Steels. And Mr Shuker'll sort that nut out in no time (I might try a brass one). It looks the business and the Recurve shape is funky (it's a shade bigger than an MM sterling). It's not light, but it's well balanced. The build quality is excellent and the fret job is wonderfull (it takes a seriously low action if required). We're off to a good start
 11.
that is stunning
Nice. How much?
