  1. .....and it looks like this is going for trade.
  2. I had the pleasure of taking this one for a spin and it's first rate. Really like the revised pre-amp.
  3. Just had a look and it is a separate maple board, although the join is almost invisible.
  4. And next we have a beautiful Spector Rebop 5 string with an orange burst finish over thick flamed maple top. Body is alder. Circa 2007, I think, and spotless as far as I can see. Action is low and it plays great. In many ways I prefer it to the Euro, having a similar but less aggressive character. It comes with a good quality gig bag I'm asking £500, no offers please and no trades. Collection from Sheffield is preferred but will meet up within a reasonable distance or arrange UK postage at cost.
  5. It is. Plays beautifully too. The satin neck is dynamite.
  6. Next in line for the chop is this, my '99 Stingray (3 band EQ) with a lovely flamed maple board and neck (satin finish) It's in near perfect condition, crazy for a 20 year old bass, weighs in at a fairly typical 9lb and is in charge of all my 70's funk needs. It will be sorely missed. Price is £900 collected from the shed in Sheffield, no offers but I may be tempted by a great condition BB2000/3000/3000a (Japanese) or Jaydee Supernatural in trade even though I know I shouldn't. Will arrange insured UK shipping at cost, but prefer collection or meet up within reasonable distance of Sheffield Comes with period correct case (the pre-ABS, vintage(?) variety), allen key and duster. I thought I had the tags, but I can't find them at the mo.....
  7. This one's SOLD pending the usual, chaps...….
  8. I've just added a pic of the flamed top which is a about 18mm thick with a blackwood strip separating...... I do like a nice thick figured top.
  9. He's under rated, if you ask me. I have four of his basses and they are all beautifully crafted by hand (pin router and hand carving, not CNC) and play as well as anything I've ever owned.
  10. Here we have my Musicman Sterling Black Onyx from 2002 in near mint condition (there's some fine swirling on the pick guard is all) with case and tags. For those that don't know, these were a limited "custom shop" run of 150 pieces, 75 for the USA and 75 everywhere else, of which this is number 46 from the US. I bought it when I first started work for Marvel in 2002. It's never been gigged or practiced outside of my studio and it's currently wearing a new set of Black Beauties (nothing else will do). It's black. The price is £1000 collected from the shed in Sheffield or local meetup. I'll arrange UK delivery for cost.
  11. Next up is my Shuker series 2 headless bass built around a Moses/Steinberger carbon fiber neck. It has ABM tuner/bridges, EMG MMTW pickup (with series/parallel switching) into an EMG BQS system pre. The finish is of Jon's devising. He's overlaid a pearlescent texture over satin white which is quite subtle most of the time. Get it in the right light, though, and it shows off a green/pink webbing effect. I'll try to catch it in the pics...... The string spacing is 16mm, scale length 34" and it's light. Around 7, 7.5lbs I reckon. The body wood is alder. Setup is low and super stable. The sound is the opposite of what I imaged EMG and graphite would be, warm and growly as hell. Cut the mids, however, and you get a super-sharp slap tone. Condition is as new and the price is £800 with a padded gig bag, no offers or trades. Collection or meetup within about 60 miles is preferred, but UK postage is possible at cost.
