2. Hey all, It's time to move my LX5 along due to needing to pay towards my custom Shuker build. I'll miss it, but needs must. It's a couple of years old in near mint condition, sports the optional black hardware and the updated Tonepump preamp. It's strung with new DM Blue steels and the alder/maple body resonates like there's no tomorrow. Shall we say £600 collected? 3.
ok, thanks you miserable cat! Well, seeing as previously I was only asking for £600 and so I don't acquire a dodgy reputation, £600 is what I'm asking for, final answer.
Bargain!
  4. In fact here's a another pic of it......
  5. "which is a hot hot HOT preamp" Yes, but not necessarily in this one 'cos it has the Tonepump with the output adjustment pot. So it won't fry yer gear.
  6. Lovely bass, this one. Andy lent it to me for bit and not only is it a total stunner, it sounds awesome. Like all the euro's I've tried, it has a fantastic slap sound. I'm currently attempting my first 5 string bass in the form of a Euro 5 (which sounds pretty much the same).
  7.
Should i drop this to £650 plus shipping! Or do i need to wake up and smell the coffee!!?? bump.
Aaaw, ok ok. I give in. Pm'd.
  8.
Few pics added..bump
35" scale? Second gen tonepump? me like.
  9. I think there are some soundfiles of this one on Jon's website..... http://www.shukerguitars.co.uk/sound.htm Third one down.
Still waiting on the recordings bump
No probs.
  11.
Back to a previous point, can anyone verify whether these basses emit a low hum at all? I've seen a few reviews which seem to comment critically on this issue :S Just wondering if it's a problem which has been fixed or if the problem still exists in new models.
Mine never hummed. But they are single coil pups running through an active pre so you're going to get some noise when a pup is solo'd. They're good guitars and the pre-amps are very decent. I thought the pups were particularly well judged and the neck finish was excellent. The neck pocket fit on mine wasn't great and the finish on the body could have been better, but it played very well and sounded the business

    SOLD
Bump for just recorded with it
Cool. Can we hear?
  13.
Pretty much what I suspected. Thank you.
You're welcome
  14. ..........or not unless you have a particularly bad bridge, anyway. I know an £18 Gotoh 203 is just as good as a Badass. Better IMHO.
  15.
Ok, someone has to do this: does it *really* make a noticeable difference to be worth the cost? really?
No.
  16.
+1
I like Schallers and Gotoh, the 203 in particular. Very underated.
  17. and here's a better pic of my faithfull assitants.....
  18.
PM sent
And replied and sold pending.......
  19.
Shameless
Utterly.
  20. In fact, here, indeed, is one of the original, sex enhancing Badass's right here on our very forum..... http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=152086 .......the even more sort after "road worn" edition, I believe. Priceless!
  21.
$100, really?! Bass players are mugs
Right on, brother.
  22.
The new ones are crap. The old ones, when they were painstakingly smelted by the hands of wizened craftsmen who only used steel unearthed by their own bare hands, sustained longer, had purer tone and made you more attractive to the opposite sex.
.....you mean like those second hand ones that are on Ebay for very reasonable prices?
  23.
Even the packet looks cool! I'm sure the bbot nazis will be along soon to tell us they have been playing for 40 years without any problems and on the same set of flats too
........but think of the improvements in sustain if you had 5!
  24. .....forgot the decimal point, didn't I. £23.00 inc.
  25. Hey all, I found this floating like something unflushed in the bottom of my parts draw. It's a Baddass II with two badly filed saddles (E and G) and two good'uns. Apart from that, it's in excellent condition. It's good for spares (which are bloody hard to find) so I'll sell it on for £2300 inc post and all proceeds go to Basschat.
