Anyone even heard of an AFR, better still does anyone have any experience of the piezo problems?

Hi everyone, I'm a new guy on this Chatline. Does anyone have experience of the Rolf Spuler designed Ibanez Affirma AFR104. I know they are terribly rare (he licenced about 1000 in the 90s) and I have just purchased a lined fretless from a guy in Lithuanania. I need to take it to Hugh Manson to get the lines removed, he has asked me if they are plastic or wood, if wood they can be stained. Any help out there??
