1. Nice My BXP Cirrus is 35", BTW - I think the early ones were. I grant you I had to measure it to tell the difference.
2.
Quite. I wonder how many people who are over-reacting to this issue are also worried about peak oil, population pressure, resource depletion, pollution and climate change? How dare people have the effrontery to apparently get something for nothing when we're all going to hell in handbag! I've owned basses with applied F Decals and I've owned genuine Fender basses too. FMIC certainly haven't lost out as far as my investment in genuine Fender instruments is concerned. Right, can't hang around here all day - got to get down to Oxford Street to buy a fake watch, some fake trainers, a knock-off handbag and some iffy perfume before The Rapture kicks in. Byeee!
Since you asked: I've never owned a Fender nor am I ever likely to; too expensive. I do own a bass with an F decal; it is a bitsa and evidently not a factory Fender (I didn't put the logo on it). I wouldn't buy one with a bogus logo if it was easily mistaken for a proper Fender, but since I've no intention of buying a real Fender anyway...
3. Pretty Sadly, it has too many strings and I'd never do it justice. Also, congratulations on your engagement.
4. It will be worth putting your reduced price in the title, otherwise you risk people thinking it's the same price they couldn't afford when they looked at it yesterday. (To edit the title, go to the original post and click Edit, then Use Full Editor.)
5.
Drop us a PM when you decide to move it on! I have been curious about these for a long time... J.
Thanks, I'll do that This year, and probably this summer - I need to work out what the electrics are supposed to do first.
6. That EU no-tariff deal works nicely, and will continue to do so until June 23. After that... not sure. It's a shame that the Dutch seller didn't provide anything useful.
7.
The controls are integrated in the bridge. Stacked volume / volume for B-E strings and A-D-G. And stacked bass/treble.
Ah, now I understand. An elegant solution. Thank you. Good luck with the sale!
8. I wouldn't like the neck of this one, but thanks for the pic of the bridge - it looks as if it might be the answer to my question about my Kramer The Duke http://basschat.co.uk/topic/285265-bridge-for-kramer-the-duke/page__fromsearch__1. Ta
9. I've got a Standard, which I will never sell, and a 3002, which I will definitely sell. I'd like another Standard; if I was closer to Solihull I'd have had that one. The Standard sounds goood. The 3002 is a P-J bass. Nothing wrong with that, but it's not interesting enough to keep and the neck is too wide for me. (42mm nut IIRC, treetrunk neck.) IIRC someone posted pics of Billy Sheehan with a 3002 backstage a few years ago.
10. Wow. Far outside my price range, or my skill, sadly. How does the volume setting work? Is there a control inside the electronics cavity?
11.
You can see that the seller has a sense of humour - of course, that price is a joke...
That's the only evidence of humour I can see in it.
12. The string spacing is rather wide on the four-string neck, by the look of it. Also, apparently he made fifteen of these. Somebody's got more warehouse space than is good for them.
13. Ibanez SR300, strung BEAD. £100 plus carriage to the UK. SR300 in Pearl White (I think that's what the colour is called). It's strung BEAD; if you want to string it EADG it will need a new nut. The strings are roundwound, not sure of the brand. Bought when I thought I'd never be able to play fives but still wanted that low B; selling because I don't need the low B enough to actually play it. Shame, really. Apart from that, it's an SR300; nice little active bass, above entry level. I've never gigged it, but that's only because the project I wanted it for folded. Light, skinny fast neck, comfortable. The truss rod turns sweetly. There is a scar, on the back of the neck behind the 11th fret; I've never noticed it as a problem. There is also a small flaw in the finish between the pups. Apart from that, I can't find anything wrong with it. It will come with a generic gig bag. Pics here: http://s1295.photobu...l?sort=3&page=1
14. Where are you? Also, your sale will go better with pictures. Personally, I put them on Photobucket and link to them.
15. "May not post to the United Kingdom"... ... what a relief.
16. Good for you and MAH. I'll certainly keep my eyes open for gigs round here.
17. Not my style, but nice to watch and great respect for the skill of the players. I did like the scat singing. Thanks for posting
18. I should have thought of that... I have an Alien which I haven't had out of its case for at least two years. D'oh... I'll report back.
19.
Nah, you dot want that stuff. The gel works so much better.
Also less hazardous when spilled.
20. I'm guessing the J necks would fit the P bodies, and vice versa...
21. Nice Any chance of a sound recording? Only problem is, I'm pretty sure it's going to be out of my price range... (asssuming you're still going to sell it, that is). Piezo and humbucker 42mm nut Is the neck bolt-on?
