1. I never see Axcelerators. I suspect a lot of people would avoid the name.
2. Like I'm sorry to hear about your friend.
3.
I am trying to imagine what fun I could have with $7,000, but coming to the slightly tragic conclusion that I'd probably run out of ideas after the first thousand or so...
Dollars, or ideas?
4. I miss the Yamaha BBN5 I sold. It's still the only fiver I've ever been comfortable with.
5. Thanks folks. I confess my interest is mostly theoretical; I just saw a picture and wondered what if. I do take Beedster's comment about finding strings in a hurry on board - thank you.
6. I used a piece of plastic plumbing pipe once, not having any spare packaging cardboard at the time. No comments from the buyer, so I presume it was OK.
7. Does having a longer string length above the nut affect the sound of the string significantly? If it does, would reverse-headstock 34" B-strings sound less "flabby" than those on "conventional" Fender-style headstocks? Anyone experimented?
8. There's an offence, in the UK, called "carrying an offensive weapon", or something like it. I don't know if the USA has equivalents. I suppose this doesn't come under "concealed carry"...
9. It would be easier to see if the pics didn't have the plate in the background.
10. Recent, as well... IIRC the Limelight logo on the headstock dates from late last year?
11. An unconventional headstock on a semi-acoustic Mazeti: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/John-Mazeti-Bass-Guitar-/182113306631?hash=item2a66cc8807:g:AbQAAOSw9~RXJKsi I've not seen one of those before... !
12.
Did anyone post this pic yet? http://equipboard.co...-p-bass-guitatr
That's the pic I was thinking of. Thanks!
13. Nice My BXP Cirrus is 35", BTW - I think the early ones were. I grant you I had to measure it to tell the difference.
14.
Quite. I wonder how many people who are over-reacting to this issue are also worried about peak oil, population pressure, resource depletion, pollution and climate change? How dare people have the effrontery to apparently get something for nothing when we're all going to hell in handbag! I've owned basses with applied F Decals and I've owned genuine Fender basses too. FMIC certainly haven't lost out as far as my investment in genuine Fender instruments is concerned. Right, can't hang around here all day - got to get down to Oxford Street to buy a fake watch, some fake trainers, a knock-off handbag and some iffy perfume before The Rapture kicks in. Byeee!
Since you asked: I've never owned a Fender nor am I ever likely to; too expensive. I do own a bass with an F decal; it is a bitsa and evidently not a factory Fender (I didn't put the logo on it). I wouldn't buy one with a bogus logo if it was easily mistaken for a proper Fender, but since I've no intention of buying a real Fender anyway...
15. Pretty Sadly, it has too many strings and I'd never do it justice. Also, congratulations on your engagement.
